Amazon Shares Powerful New SNEAKY PETE Trailer

Amazon Prime Video today released a powerful new trailer in anticipation of the original dramatic series Sneaky Pete, which will return for its second season on Friday, March 9. The critically-acclaimed Prime Original, a co-production with Sony Pictures Television Studios, revolves around a con man, Marius (Giovanni Ribisi, Avatar) who left prison only to find himself HUNTED by the VICIOUS gangster he once robbed.

ALWAYS SHINE Opens in NYC This Weekend

Two women, both actresses with differing degrees of success, travel north from Los Angeles to Big Sur for a weekend vacation in Always Shine, Sophia Takal's twisty, psychological drama. Both see the trip as an opportunity to reconnect after years of competition and jealousy has driven a wedge between them,but upon arrival to their isolated, forest retreat, the pair discovers that their once intimate friendship has deteriorated into forced conversations, betrayals both real and imagined, petty jealousies, and deep-seated resentment. As the women allow their feelings to fester, each begins to lose their bearings not only on the true nature of their relationship, but on their own identities.

John Patrick Shanley, Laura Linney Introduce Philip Seymour Hoffman Films at Moving Image

To honor his legacy, Museum of the Moving Image will present The Master: Philip Seymour Hoffman from September 16 through October 2, a retrospective featuring sixteen films, including his directorial debut Jack Goes Boating; Capote, for which he won an Academy Award for Leading Actor; and The Master, Magnolia, and Boogie Nights- three films he made with Paul Thomas Anderson.

The 23rd Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit & Auction FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

BWW Reviews: POLTERGEIST Solid, Well-Acted, But Unnecessary

POLTERGEIST is a solid, well-acted film with creepy clowns, evil entities, and a few sincere scares. It's not a complete waste of your time or money, but like many remakes you'll question why it's necessary. Consider waiting for it on Netflix or, if you insist on seeing it on the big screen, choose the matinee and avoid paying extra for 3D.

Museum of Moving Image to Host Joe Swanberg for Film Screenings, 3/1-2

Joe Swanberg is the writer-director and occasional actor whose micro-budget feature films helped spark a movement of DIY filmmaking known as mumblecore. On March 1 and 2, 2014, Museum of the Moving Image will presents a weekend retrospective with this prolific American filmmaker, who will appear at screenings of six of his films in the Sumner M. Redstone Theater.
