Last year's inaugural outing was attended by hundreds of people over a single weekend. Who Wants Cake? is thrilled to announce their Fall 2010 season! This is their 4th fall season announcement and it is filled with exciting things as they branch out for the first time to a theatre other than The Ringwald, bring a spooky Detroit premiere, and celebrate the holidays in an other-wordly style.
David Rabe's jet-black comedy about drugs, sex, despair and death in substance-fueled 1980s Hollywood gets the Who Wants Cake? treatment this April starring some of Detroit's hottest talent. The production will end its run at Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre on Monday, April 26th.
I have never stepped foot into The Ringwald Theatre and on top of that I have admittedly never heard about the play/movie Hurlyburly. However, when I received an invitation to see the show I whole heartedly obliged. Considering that I have never seen the movie or any other production of this play, I really wasn't sure what to expect. Typically, I have some sort of background of the at least the synopsis, but with this show/theatre I really had nothing to go off of, so it was a completely new experience for me.
