After a successful KickStarter campaign, the hit web comedy THE RESIDUALS has wrapped on its second season, which will debut exclusively on BroadwayWorld early in 2015. The series, created by and starring husband and wife Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, focuses on the unusual world of auditioning for commercials. Season Two features all of the kooky characters from the first season, and will feature Broadway's Jenna Leigh Green (WICKED, TV's SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH), SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Horatio Sanz, and commercial icon Michael Torpey.

Season One episodes average about 7 minutes and give viewers an inside view at the bizarre world of auditions, callbacks, costume fittings and commercial shoots. I have been fortunate enough to talk to many of the show's cast members for BWW articles (I will put links at the end of this one). I recently spoke to Nick Costa, who plays main character Pete's roommate Keith, about his experience with THE RESIDUALS and his own webseries THE COFFEE SHOP SHOW.

Described by friend, and co-creator of THE RESIDUALS, Michael Paul Smith as the 'Unofficial Mayor of Midtown,' James Tabeek has appeared on Broadway in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, TABOO, and MARY POPPINS, and on tour with WICKED. However, recently, James has been subtly moving his career away from the stage towards screens of all sizes. His first step in this new direction was in the first season of the hit webseries THE RESIDUALS. The comedy tells the tumultuous stories of actors auditioning for commercials. James plays Devan, the assistant to hot-headed casting director Mark Lyell (played by SUBMISSIONS ONLY's Mark Gessner).
