Disney's Aladdin, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award®-winning animated film, begins performances at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on February 26th, 2014 for a March 20 opening. The show just announced the following rush policy: A limited number of general rush seats will be sold for each performance on the day of the show when the box office opens for $32.50 each. Rush tickets can be purchased by cash or charge at the box office. Locations will be at the theatre's discretion and may not be offered at all performances. Each guest in line may purchase a maximum of two (2) tickets.
Adam Jacobs, star of Disney's upcoming Aladdin, and his wife of seven years, actress Kelly Jacobs, just announced the birth of twin boys Jack Loren Jacobs and Alex Gregory Jacobs. When the Tony-winning MEMPHIS closed on Broadway in 2012, producers announced that a West End production was coming soon. According to the UK Daily Mail, soon could be in 2014, at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End, following a scheduled run of THE PAJAMA GAME.

Tony-award winner and four-time Grammy nominee Melba Moore will perform at the Jericho Project 30th Anniversary Gala, The Way Home: 30 Years of New Beginnings on October 9th at Gotham Hall, New York. James Monroe Iglehart, star of the upcoming Disney production of Aladdin, will host the event directed by Nathan Brewer, featuring the J. Donald Dumpson singers.
The American Theatre Wing (William Ivey Long, Chair; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) announced today that its annual gala, held last night at the Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising nearly $700,000 (besting the previous record, which was set in 2012, by approximately $100,000). All proceeds from the evening will benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing, which include SpringboardNYC, the Theatre Intern Group, the National Theatre Company Grants and the Jonathan Larson Grants, and will also support free access for students, aspiring professionals, and the general public to programming on AmericanTheatreWing.org, including the long running television show 'Working in the Theatre.'
