STAGE TUBE: On This Day 5/6- GLORY DAYS

Today in 2008, Glory Days opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre, where it ran for one performance. Glory Days is a musical with music and lyrics by Nick Blaemire and a book by James Gardiner about four high school friends reuniting a year after graduation. The musical premiered at the Signature Theatre, a professional regional theatre in Arlington, Virginia, from January 15 through February 17, 2008, where it was directed by Eric D. Schaeffer, the Artistic Director of the theatre, with musical staging by assistant director Matthew Gardiner. The producers cited 'low advance sales' in announcing the show's closing.

Matthew Scott and More to Star in COMPANY at Signature Theatre, 5/21-6/30

Phone rings. Door chimes. In comes Company, one of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim's most beloved musicals, produced at Signature Theatre for the first time in twenty years and directed by Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. The cast of fourteen, led by Matthew Scott (First You Dream: The Music of Kander & Ebb; Side By Side By Sondheim) in the role of Bobby, features many of Signature's most well-known stars in an enchanting, deeply funny exploration of love and marriage.

This year, for the first time, theatre lovers in Washington and around the world were able to watch the nomination announcements live via webcast at theatrewashington.org, Facebook, or on the Livestream. ATMTC's WINNIE THE POOH Opens 1/18

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) opens 2013 with Winnie the Pooh, the third of its Professional 2012-2013 61stSeason, based on the book by A.A. Milne. Directed by Jerry Whiddon, director of the Helen Hayes Award Recipient for Outstanding Production, Theatre for Young Audiences' If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and adapted by Clanché du Rand, Winnie The Pooh will feature Washington, D.C. area favorites including James Gardiner and Todd Scofield in their ATMTC debut and Joshua Morgan, Artistic Director of No Rules Theatre Co. ATMTC will also continue its introduction of youth actors to the professional stage with Holden Brettell as Christopher Robin. This show is recommended for all ages. Signature Theatre Announces Casting for HOLIDAY FOLLIES

Signature Theatre pulls some of DC's brightest stars into the spirit of the holidays with this year's original production of Holiday Follies. The popular series, now in its third season, will feature performers Bobby Smith (See What I Wanna See, Show Boat), Eleasha Gamble (Chess, Les Miserables), James Gardiner (The Boy Detective Fails, [title of show]), and Rachel Zampelli (Dying City, Brother Russia), under the direction of Walter Ware III. With a cabaret set list built to change from night to night, Signature's forecast calls for a special week of wintry mix.
