In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Broadway and big screen star Bobby Cannavale talked about working with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx on Will Gluck's ANNIE movie remake, in which he plays an advisor to Daddy Warbucks (Foxx) -- a part that will be unfamiliar to fans of the stage musical or the 1982 film.
Deadline reports that Dorian Missick (Southland) has joined the ANNIE remake alongside Tracie Thoms as Annie's 'fake parents'. The new film inspired by the classic Broadway musical with a modern spin also stars Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role with Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, as well as the recently announced David Zayas. The film is currenly filming on-location in New York City.
Zayas will take on the role of 'Lou, the local bodega owner who is a friend to Annie and has a crush on Miss Hannigan.'
Agbaje will take on the role of 'Nash,' described as 'the tough but lovable bodyguard and driver for Stacks (Foxx) and a good friend of Annie.'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the big screen adaptation of ANNIE will now be released a week earlier, December 19th, to avoid the Christmas Day rush.
