The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night featured the return of Lindsay Mendez & Marco Paguia. Lindsay and Marco draw from an eclectic mix of music, reimagining songs from popular music in the familiar setting of a jazz piano trio and vocalist. Their vast catalogue is comprised of the singers and songwriters that inspire them, including Alexi Murdoch, Alicia Keys, The Beatles, Feist, Fiona Apple, Gladys Knight, Janis Joplin, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray, Martin Sexton, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, The Police, Stevie Wonder, and U2. David Serero announces that he will be producing Man of La Mancha in Paris on March 19th and 26th. This classic has not been done in the French capital since Jacques Brel himself back in 1968.

Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables) will headline the December 18th at 3pm and December 30th at 9pm performances of JACQUES BREL RETURNS...The Music of Brel, Blau, Shuman and Jouannest. Joining Cuccioli on December 18th will be Jim Stanek (Lestat, Little Women, …Forum), Arlo Hill (Where's Charley? At Encores! directed by John Doyle), Rick Hip-Flores (who has performed in the pits of Billy Elliot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and Ereni Sevasti (The Bacchae at The Public, Carnival at The Kennedy Center), and joining him on December 30th will be Rick Hip-Flores, Ereni Sevasti and PJ Baccari. Rick Hip-Flores will also serve as musical director for both performances.

The Old Globe will open its 2012-13 Winter Season with the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical. Created by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione with music and lyrics by Kuo, the original musical tells the story of a Japanese American family forced into an internment camp during World War II.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announced the cast and creative team for their production of The Toxic Avenger. In a new production, which features several new songs and revised book by the Tony Award-winning creative team of Memphis, Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, Tony-nominated Constantine Maroulis takes center stage as the righteous superhero in the title role. John Rando (Tony Winner for Urinetown) returns to the Alley to reinvent his hilarious 2009 Off-Broadway staging of The Toxic Avenger following his smashing Alley productions of The Man Who Came to Dinner, Mrs. Mannerly and Be My Baby.

Anglewalk Theatre will return to the Studio Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts in 2011/2012 with a brand new musical revue, Off-Broadway On Stage, and the Canadian Premiere of I Love You Because, an off-Broadway modern musical twist on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

The Public Theater and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters have announced that single tickets are now on sale for the eighth annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 4-15, 2012 at The Public Theater as well as at partner venues around the city.
