Today's subjects are living their theatre lives overseeing the nightly operations for one of the most ambitious productions the area has ever seen. It's so big that it took two theatres to co-produce it. I'm speaking of Round House Theatre and Olney Theatre Center's production of Angels in America, Tony Kushner's two-part, nearly-seven-hour Tony Award-winning magnum opus. Millennium Approaches (Part 1) and Perestroika (Part 2) run in repertory through October 30th and are performed at Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD.

Hackney Empire has today announced the full cast of its much-anticipated 2015 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. The full cast will be joining previously announced Olivier Award-nominee Debbie Kurup as Jack, everybody's favourite dame, Olivier Award-winning Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trott and Kat B as Snowman. Following their 2014 pantomime which was seen by over 50,000 people Jack and the Beanstalkwill run from 21 November 2015 to 3 January 2016.

BWW Reviews: It's Delicious Thievery in A Noise Within's THE THREEPENNY OPERA

The first thing you notice when you step into the theater for A Noise Within's THE THREEPENNY OPERA is Frederica Nascimento's stunningly vivid set design. It's a deconstruction in which none of the elements are hidden: lighting instruments are in plain sight; pieces of scenery hang suggestively from the rails but without trying to make a complete picture; furniture litters the upstage areas and props are scattered about; the band is in plain view tuning up on one side and actors in rags are already roaming the audience.
