Ruckus Theater to Stage THE DEER, 4/11-5/11

The Ruckus Theater follows up its Jeff-Recommended productions of Heist Play and Facing Angela with the world premiere of The Deer, starting April 11 at Collaboraction (Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee) in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. The Deer marks the third partnership between playwright Brooke Allen and director Eric Hoff; the pair collaborated on The Life and Death of Madam Barker, which premiered to great acclaim at Red Tape Theatre in 2013. The cast of six includes Mike Tepeli as The Deer (Great Expectations, Strawdog Theatre; The Burnt Part Boys, Griffin Theatre Company); Bryan Bosque (Harry & the Thief, Pavement Group; The Skriker, Red Tape Theatre); Julie Cowden (Facing Angela, The Ruckus; All Girl Frankenstein, The Mammals); Ruckus Associate Artistic Director Joshua Davis (Heist Play, The Ruckus; Lear, Red Tape Theatre); Matthew Lloyd, (The Lives of Pigeons, the side project); and Cheryl Snodgrass (Hell in a Handbag).
Tickets to Buzz22 Chicago's GHOST BIKE Now On Sale

Buzz22 Chicago has announced that tickets for the World Premiere production of Laura Jacqmin's 'Ghost Bike,' directed by Co-Artistic Director Sara Sawicki are now on sale. The production runs March 8 - April 6, 2014 at the Greenhouse Upstairs Mainstage, 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL, 60647. Combining elements of Greek, African, and Chinese mythology, 'Ghost Bike' depicts two best friends navigating the ultimate challenge to a friendship through an underworld beneath their home city, Chicago. 'Ghost Bike' is Buzz22 Chicago's next production after 2013's sold out and highly acclaimed production of 'She Kills Monsters' at the Steppenwolf Garage.

Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland have announced the third production in their 2013 - 2014 season, the world premiere of Philip Dawkins' Miss Marx: or The Involuntary Side Effect of Living directed by Megan Shuchman, Strawdog Theatre Company is located at 3829 N. Broadway Street. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Fridays, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. There is a Board Preview performance, Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., with $50 tickets that include access to a post-performance reception. Opening/press night is Monday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. Industry night is Monday, March 3 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Single Tickets are $28 and are currently on sale. The Music Theatre Company (TMTC), Highland Park's Equity theatre, 1850 Green Bay Road, is proud to announce the company's 2013 mainstage production, The Pajama Game.
