Huntington Theatre Co. Offers One Day Ticket Sale 8/20, Offers $25 Tix To FENCES and 'WINDING ROAD'

The Huntington Theatre Company will offer $25 tickets to select performances of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winner Fences and to the world premiere of Grammy Award-winning pop icon Maureen McGovern's A Long and Winding Road at a special One Day Sale on Thursday, August 20. Tickets will be available online, by phone, and in person at the Boston University Theatre Box Office, located at 264 Huntington Avenue, Boston.

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 28th season - a season of American stories - with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Fences, the sixth chapter of his groundbreaking ten-play cycle about the 20th century African-American experience. Kenny Leon (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, A Raisin in the Sun), acclaimed director and Wilson's final collaborator before his death, returns to the Huntington to helm the production, which stars John Beasley (Two Trains Running, Jitney, 'Everwood').

The Fordham University Alumni Theatre Company announced the details of its second annual production, ONCE THERE WAS A BOY, a new play by Jason Pizzarello. The production is a collaboration of thirty Fordham University alums, including Pizzarello and director Aaron Rhyne, and will begin its special limited engagement on August 1, 2009 at Fordham University's Pope Auditorium (113 W. 60th Street, NYC).

Diamond, Jacqui Parker, and Joyce Van Dyke and a new musical by Chay Yew and Fabian Obispo will be read this July and August as part of the Huntington Theatre Company's sixth Breaking Ground Festival, held at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Photo Flash: Jill Paice Joins THE 39 STEPS

Jill Paice (Curtains, The Woman in White, A Little Night Music) recently joined the cast of Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's longest running comedy, playing the roles of Annabella Schmidt, Pamela and Margaret. Now in its second smash year, the Tony Award-winning quick change comedy version of Hitchcock's classic film thriller is playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street). The production also recently played its 500th performance on Broadway.

HEART OF THE CITY With Foss, Kerns, Kurtz Begins 6/11 At Theater At 30th Street

Fern Kershon and Orange Thought Productions will present Heart of the City, a new play by Eric Lane, directed by Martha Banta, featuring Eliza Foss, Scott Kerns, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Martin LaPlatney, Melissa Miller and Mark Setlock. Performances will begin Thursday June 11th at the Theatre at 30th Street, for a limited engagement.

Jill Paice Joins Bdwy's 'THE 39 STEPS' 6/2

Jill Paice (Curtains, The Woman in White, A Little Night Music) will join the cast of Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's longest running comedy, on Tuesday, June 2. She will be playing the roles of Annabella Schmidt, Pamela and Margaret. Francesca Faridany will play her final performances in the roles on Sunday, May 31.
