Haydn Gwynne, Stephen Bogardus, Lauren Molina and More to Lead Huntington's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC This Fall

The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Performances will run September 11 - October 11, 2015 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

The Kennedy Center to Host 10th Annual MFA Playwrights' Workshop This Summer

The Kennedy Center, in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, the National New Play Network (NNPN)-the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays-and with Stanford University's National Center for New Plays, will host more than 50 playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs from July 25 to August 2, 2015 as part of the 10th annual weeklong MFA Playwrights' Workshop featuring new works by MFA students from Columbia University, Northwestern University, Fordham University, Yale School of Drama, the Juilliard School, New York University-Tisch School of the Arts, University of California-San Diego, and the Juilliard School.

Tony Winner Karen Ziemba to Star in Lexington Theatre Company's 42ND STREET Next Month

The brand-new Lexington Theatre Company is thrilled to announce that casting is complete for its inaugural production of 42nd Street. Tony Award Winner Karen Ziemba, will play Dorothy Brock, alongside other Broadway veterans and up-and-coming actors. 42nd Street is presented by Variety Live at The Opera House with Co-Producing Sponsor Kentucky One Health, and runs July 23-26 at the Lexington Opera House.

Comedy OUT OF STERNO Opens Tonight at Gloucester Stage

Gloucester Stage continues the 36th season of producing professional theatre on Cape Ann with Deborah Zoe Laufer's Out of Sterno opening tonight, June 25 and running through July 18 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA.

Encores! Off-Center's A NEW BRAIN, Starring Jonathan Groff, Opens Tonight

Jenni Barber, Quentin Earl Darrington, Bradley Dean, Dan Fogler, Ana Gasteyer, Josh Lamon, Aaron Lazar, Alyse Alan Louis and Rema Webb join Jonathan Groff in the Encores! Off-Center production of William Finn and James Lapine's A New Brain, running tonight, June 24, through June 27, 2015. The production is directed by James Lapine, with choreography by Josh Prince.

BLIND CREST Staged Reading Set for Planet Connections Theatre Festivity

The Other Mirror is pleased to present a staged reading of BLIND CREST by Monet Hurst-Mendoza and directed by Katherine M. Carter, as part of the 6th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place June 15th through July 12th at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street).

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Blake Pfeil in The BBC, 1970 on Saturday, July 25. On October 9, 1970, the BBC aired Joni Mitchell in Concert, an intimate and acoustic portrait that spotlighted several of her career-defining songs, including "Chelsea Morning," "Big Yellow Taxi," and "Both Sides Now."

The New Black Fest Commissions Five Black Women Playwrights for UN-TAMED: HAIR BODY ATTITUDE This Fall

In the tradition of Facing Our Truth: Short Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege and HANDS UP: 6 Playwrights, 6 Testaments, The New Black Fest (guest curator playwright Dominique Morisseau) will commission five black women playwrights to write short plays entitled UN-TAMED: HAIR BODY ATTITUDE - Short Plays by Black Women. The playwrights include Cori Thomas, Nikkole Salter, Chisa Hutchinson, Lenelle Moise and Jocelyn Bioh.
