The New York Philharmonic will present the U.S. Premiere of director Co?me de Bellescize's staging of Honegger's dramatic oratorio Joan of Arc at the Stake in season-finale performances conducted by Alan Gilbert and starring Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard as Joan of Arc.

On Sunday, June 14, San Francisco Opera begins a revival of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's sparkling comedy The Marriage of Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) as part of the Company's 2015 Summer Season. The production, featuring a stellar cast of dynamic, young singers, is conducted by Principal Guest Conductor Patrick Summers and continues through Sunday, July 5 at the War Memorial Opera House. In conjunction with these performances, San Francisco Opera returns to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, for a free live simulcast of The Marriage of Figaro on Friday, July 3. Houston, June 3, 2015— Houston Grand Opera announced at its annual meeting on Tuesday evening that its 2014–15 season sustained the increased attendance and fundraising levels achieved over the previous four years of consistent expansion. During its 60th anniversary season HGO presented eight main-stage productions, as it did in 2013–14, for a total of forty-eight performances.  Attendance matched that of last season while the organization's historic comprehensive campaign raised $172.9 million, beating its $165 million goal.

Wharton Center for Performing Arts is pleased to announce that Greg Weber has been hired as the Center's new Director of Operations and Administration. Weber replaces Diane Baribeau, who is moving to Traverse City to become the Executive Director of the City Opera House on behalf of Wharton Center.

In this taut 2013 theatrical adaptation of Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela's award winning-book, the apartheid regime's most notorious assassin and head of its death squad, Eugene de Kock (played by Matthew Marsh), sits opposite psychologist Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela (played Noma Dumezweni) in Pretoria Central Prison in 1997. Gobodo-Madikizela is a member of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission determined to understand his actions. She questions de Kock, who is sentenced to two life terms plus 212 years for crimes against humanity, murder, conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, assault, kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, and fraud.
