Wilton's Music Hall Sets January-April 2016 Season

Kicking off January is The Mozart Salons: Concert One (8 January), an international project exploring the most prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. Join Pater Sheppard Skaeverd on a journey of intricate sonatas through to his muchly celebrated concertante works for violin, viola and piano. Nashville-based polymath Michael Alec Rose will present the exclusive world premiere of a series of violin pieces inspired by intimate walks across Dartmoor, whilst exploring its rich history along the way. Pianist Daniel-Ben Pienaar will join Peter as well as composer David Lancaster in Concert Two (14 February).

Spoleto Festival USA Unveils 2015 Poster by Italian Artist Ugo Nespolo; Kicks Off 5/22

A bright and bold poster designed by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo was unveiled by General Director Nigel Redden as the official 2015 Spoleto Festival USA poster today. Nespolo is the set and costume designer for Spoleto Festival USA's production of Francesco Cavalli's opera Veremonda l'amazzone di Aragona, which will have its American premiere-and first performances in over 350 years-at this year's Festival, running May 22 through June 7 in Charleston, South Carolina.

MoMA Announces New Exhibitions and Events in April

Love Bites: Caricatures by James Gillray 26 March-21 June 2015 One of the world's finest collections of James Gillray's (1757–1815) work is owned by New College, Oxford, home to more than two thirds of Gillray's 1100 engravings. On the bicentenary of his death, Love Bites takes a fresh look at Gillray's caricatures, focusing on the theme of love in his pictures of courting, friendships and marriages. The exhibition sets his work in the context of a canon of artists who have treated the subject of love, from Brancusi going to back to Rubens, and aims to reveal a new vitality in the caricatures of James Gillray.

Mike Bencivenga to Receive Abingdon's 2014 Christopher Brian Wolk Award

Abingdon Theatre Company announces that playwright Mike Bencivenga, author of the recent Off-Broadway hit Billy & Ray, will receive its 2014 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for his play SUMMER ON FIRE. A presentation of the award and staged reading of the play is set for Monday, December 15, starting at 7:00pm in the June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, in Manhattan.

Bonhams Selected to Auction Estate of Actress Lauren Bacall

Acclaimed actress of stage and screen, Lauren Bacall, who passed away in August 2014, had formed an astonishing art collection which included works by some of the greatest artists of the 20th century. The Bacall Collection, estimated at $3m, will be sold at Bonhams, New York – 580 Madison Avenue – in March 2015.

Portraits from Snowdon Archive to Be Displayed at National Portrait Gallery, 9/26

An important display of portraits by Snowdon from the 1950s to the 1990s has opened at the National Portrait Gallery, London, it was announced today, Friday 26 September, 2014. The display includes portraits from his recently announced gift, one of the largest in its history, of 130 original prints to the gallery, of some of his most iconic photographs. Highlights include from 1978 actor Terence Stamp dramatically clothed up to his neck in a cape and Dame Maggie Smith photographed with a cigarette and script in hand rehearsing the title role in Ibsen's Hedda Gabler for Ingmar Bergman in 1970.

The National Portrait Gallery Presents SNOWDON: A LIFE IN VIEW, 9/26-1/21

Andrea Rosen Gallery is very pleased to announce that Cory Nomura, one of the gallery's directors, is moving to Gallery 2 to continue to broaden the significance of its exhibition programming, which has been an essential part of the gallery's history since its inception in 1999. In 2012, Gallery 2 grew into an autonomous exhibition space at 544 West 24th Street. It remains dedicated to presenting content-driven, experimental and historical one-time exhibitions. In his new role, Nomura will also provide Gallery 2 with an on-going directorial presence.
