Central City Opera opens its 85th summer festival with Georges Bizet's Carmen, running in repertory from July 8 through August 6, in the historic 550-seat opera house in Central City.
Madison Opera has announced the company's 2017/18 season, which feature a classic opera and two Madison Opera premieres. The season opens in November with Bizet's Carmen, followed by Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio in February, and Catán's Florencia en el Amazonas in April.

Based on the lesser known 'La Mi-Careme (Mid-Lent)' by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halevy, Nain Rouge is a story about a raucous hotel and its wacky tenants on the night of the popular Detroit festival.
