LOS NUTCRACKERS: A CHRISTMAS CARAJO A Latino Queer Comedic Christmas Play Returns to BAAD

BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance proudly presents Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo, written by Charles Rice-Gonzalez and directed by Luis Caballero. This marks the second year that the award-winning director of Off-Broadway hits La Lupe: My Life and My Destiny and DC-7 The Roberto Clemente Story steps in to helm the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics,The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and creates a queer, Latino play about a gay couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve. The play will be presented December 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8pm; Saturday, December 10 at 3pm at BAAD!, 2474 Westchester Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx. David M. Lutken to Play Title Role in 'WOODY SEZ' at Seattle Rep

The internationally acclaimed tale, Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie, is coming to Seattle Repertory Theatre. This musical portrait, featuring Woody's stirring ballads and joyous anthems, celebrates the colorful life and rich musical legacy of America's great folk troubadour. Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie will run January 6- 29, 2017 (opening night is January 11, 2017) in the Bagley Wright Theatre.

Ford's Theatre Announces Full Casting for 35th Annual Production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Ford's Theatre Society presents its 35th-annual production of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, November 17 to December 31, 2016. This "musically high-spirited" and "infectiously jolly" (The Washington Post) production is adapted by Michael Wilson, directed by Michael Baron and features Craig Wallace as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Hershey Felder Brings the Story of America's Composer, Irving Berlin, to Life

Celebrated performer and pianist Hershey Felder brings the remarkable story of beloved composer Irving Berlin to The Armory with his highly acclaimed solo-show, Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin. Portland audiences are familiar with Hershey Felder as the adaptor and director ofThe Pianist of Willesden Lane, which played to sold-out houses at The Armory last season and will return in June for a limited engagement. Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin is directed by Trevor Hay, who collaborated with Felder on The Pianist of Willesden Lane, along with a number of other works. Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin opens on the U.S. Bank Main Stage on December 2; preview performances begin November 30; and the production runs through December 30. 

Rachel York Launches 10-City Concert Tour

Drama Desk Award-winning actress and singer Rachel York (Disaster!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Victor/Victoria) embarks on a 10-city concert tour from December, 2016 through April, 2017 beginning with Michael Feinstein's American Songbook at NJPAC! December 1. York joins Feinstein, Andrea McArdle, Jared Grimes, and Youth Songbook Ambassador Julia Goodwin at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark for a cabaret and Q&A featuring favorite American standards. The program will be filmed before a live audience for future broadcast on NJTV, WNET, and WLIW21.

Synetic Theater Announces New Board Leadership

Previously announced casting includes Seattle's own Diana Huey as Ariel and Matthew Kacergis as Prince Eric, with Broadway's Jennifer Allen as Ursula andSteven Blanchard as King Triton. Melvin Abston, Connor Russell and Jamie Torcellini join the cast as Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle. The 5th Avenue's production will go on to play engagements in cities including Orlando, Cincinnati,Atlanta and Louisville, among others.
