AMNH and Design Trust for Public Space Present a Special 'Five Borough Tasting', Now thru 8/1

The American Museum of Natural History, in collaboration with The Design Trust for Public Space, invite the public to savor delicious seasonal specialties grown in each New York City borough and served up fresh in the kitchen of the Museum's Our Global Kitchen: Food, Nature, Culture exhibition. The tastings will be held for five consecutive days beginning today, July 29, through Friday, August 1, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.

ABC Family Stars Set for Live Twitter Chat, 7/29

Matt Kane, who plays Jace on “Switched at Birth,” and Sherri Saum, who stars as Lena Adams on “The Fosters,” will participate in live Twitter chats with fans during the East Coast broadcasts of their series Monday, July 29th, starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.

The Old Globe Extends DOUBLE INDEMNITY Through 9/1

The Old Globe today announced that the San Diego Premiere of the crime classic Double Indemnity will receive an additional week of performances and will now run through Sept. 1. The production begins previews on July 27 and was originally set to close on Aug. 25. Opening night is Aug. 1. Double Indemnity is adapted by David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright from the book by James M. Cain and is directed by John Gould Rubin. Tickets for the extension week are currently available to subscribers only and will go on sale to the public on Friday, July 26 at 12 noon. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.

Island Theatre to Present Ten-Minute Play Festival, 8/24-25

Island Theatre's 2103 Ten-Minute Play Festival presents fourteen plays by local playwrights over two days at Bainbridge Performing Arts. The plays were chosen from sixty-three submissions from throughout Kitsap County and include ASSIGNED BLESSING (recipient of First Prize) by Connie Bennett, SUPER-CITIZEN AND THE PARKING SPACE (awarded Runner-Up) by Steve Palay, ADRASTEIA by Charlie Hamilton, ANASTASIA by Ned Thorne, DINNER TABLE by Robert Dalton, GINGERBREAD by Wendy J. Wallace, HELPING HANDS by Keiko Green, HOFFMEISTER'S HYPOTHESIS, OR LUCKY DUCKS by Paul Lewis, ICHAT by Judith Glass Collins, LUNATIC by Miller Shor, SCUZZYBUNNY by Karen Polinsky, THE BUTLER by George Shannon, THE CONSORTIUM by Erik Van Beuzekom, and THE OPENING by Jeff Fraga.

Glory|struck productions will present the Los Angeles return of the Damon Intrabartolo-Jon Hartmere pop opera at the Hayworth Theatre in Downtown LA, September 5, 2013. Payson Lewis (NBC's 'The Sing Off', 'Victorious'), Jonah Platt ('The Office') and Lindsay Pearce ('Glee', 'The Glee Project') will star in the Los Angeles production. Sebastian Arcelus, Fred Dalton Thompson, John Douglas Thompson Join A TIME TO KILL on Broadway

Producers Daryl Roth and Eva Price announced today that Sebastian Arcelus, Fred Dalton Thompson (in his Broadway debut), and John Douglas Thompson will star in the new Broadway courtroom drama A Time to Kill, Tony Award-winning playwright Rupert Holmes' stage adaptation of John Grisham's best-selling novel. This new Broadway play holds the distinction of being the first-ever John Grisham property to be adapted for the stage. A Time to Kill is set to open on Broadway on October 20, 2013 at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street). Previews begin September 28th. Ethan McSweeny will direct. Stephen Schwartz, Marc Shaiman & More Set for FROM BROADWAY WITH LOVE: A Benefit Concert for Sandy Hook, Airing Tonight

FROM BROADWAY WITH LOVE: A Benefit Concert for Sandy Hook, which took place on January 28, 2013, at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Connecticut, will be airing on select public television stations throughout the tri-state area. An hour-long version of the concert will premiere tonight, July 18 at 10 p.m on WLIW21, Friday, July 26 at 10 p.m. on THIRTEEN and CPTV, and Tuesday, July 30 at 10 p.m. on NJTV. 'From Broadway With Love' was a concert of healing for the Newtown community where composers, musicians and more than 100 stars of Broadway came together with over 300 students from several Newtown dance groups, the Sandy Hook Elementary School 3rd and 4th grades and the Newtown High School Chamber Choir.
