2012 is just around the corner, and there are a plethora of shows in store for this new Broadway season. From brand new musicals to vintage plays and West End transfers to American classics, 2012's upcoming shows should surely lead to a stellar awards season this spring. Grammy nominated recording artist and Broadway performer, Marty Thomas (Xanadu, Secret Garden, Wicked) presents: Diva at Industry-Bar.

As previously announced, Newsies will move to Broadway's Nederlander Theatre for a strictly limited 101 performance run following its critically-hailed run at Paper Mill Playhouse earlier this fall. The musical, featuring a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman, and a book by four-time Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), will play its first Broadway preview on March 15th prior to its March 29th opening night; the final performance is scheduled for June 10th. Elizabeth Swados' new music theatre work THE LA MAMA CANTATA -- given its world-premiere for two performances in November -- returns by popular demand to the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) for two additional performances during the holiday season on December 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m., it has been announced by La MaMa's artistic director Mia Yoo.

Not to be outdone by their female counterparts, the men of Broadway can boast a banner year. Norbert Leo Butz won a second Tony for Catch Me If You Can, Harry Potter mega-star Daniel Radcliffe made his debut in a Broadway musical to tremendous acclaim, Matt Stone, Trey Parker and Robert Lopez rocked Broadway to its core with the Rialto's latest certified Blockbuster, The Book of Mormon, and Pee-Wee Herman came to the stage at last.

Producer Mitchell Maxwell is in negotiations to buy the Priscilla Beach Theatre in Plymouth, MA. He has produced shows at the theatre and now plans to make it his own with renovations and upcoming projects.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for three-time Tony Award®- winner, including the award for BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, go on sale Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, starring George Hamilton and Chris Sieber, is coming to the Bank of America Theatre (18 W. Monroe) Dec. 20, 2011- Jan. 1, 2012.

La Cage Aux Folles, starring film and TV actor George Hamilton and two-time Tony Award nominee and Christopher Sieber, is on tour and is currently playing at Boston's Citi Performaning Arts Center. Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, this flashy comedy made Tony Awards history as the first show ever to win the Tony Award three times for best production. Hamilton recently visited FOX 25 News, where he chatted about the production. Clcik below to check it out!
