Ridgefield Playhouse to Host BandJam 2015, 4/26

The best middle and high school bands around will rock out at The Ridgefield Playhouse before a panel of industry pros to compete for the title of 'BandJam 2015 Winner' on Sunday, April 26, at 4 p.m. What began as a fundraiser for the not-for-profit performing arts center has become a much-anticipated annual competition that raises significant funds for the Playhouse. This year's BandJam is powered by Guitar Center, sponsored by Music Shed, Pepsi, i95fm, The Enchanted Garden and Hal Prince Music and Entertainment, with support from Ridgefield Music; video production is by pda films.

Salt Lake Acting Company's NPSS to Continue with HOW TO STEAL A PICASSO, 2/16

Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC) continues its 20th season of the New Play Sounding Series (NPSS) with a free reading of William Missouri Downs' newest play HOW TO STEAL A PICASSO on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Directed by Teresa Sanderson, the reading will feature local actors Daniel Beecher, Terence Goodman, Elise Groves, Jesse Peery, and Susan Dolan Stevens. The NPSS provides an essential testing ground where playwrights see and hear their works in progress and receive insightful feedback from the audience members during a post-play discussion.

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 02/02/2015 – The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Pops presents One Singular Sensation: A Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch on February 14, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The performance celebrates four decades of his magnificent contributions to music. Hamlisch, who wrote timeless music for both Broadway and film, won three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, three Golden Globes, and a Tony in his lifetime. The concert features conductor Larry Blank with vocalists Donna McKechnie, Jodi Benson, and Doug LaBrecque.

ASO Announces 2015 Symphony Gala

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will host its fifth annual Symphony Gala on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. The evening will include a performance by Broadway star, comedian and actor Jason Alexander with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO). Proceeds will benefit the Orchestra and its education and community engagement programs. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Monday, January 5, 2015 at www.atlantasymphony.org.
