The Oregon Shakespeare Festival expands its ongoing commitment to the development and production of new work with five new commissions announced today.

Arthur Miller's autobiographical play will be staged at the Ruskin Group Theatre for a limited time. The play elegantly, and hilariously at times, depicts the way a common experience can bond people together.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced that two SpotLight Award-winning students, Sarah Cartwright of Eastview High School in Apple Valley and Ryan McCartan of Minnetonka High School, were selected to represent Minnesota at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards to be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Minskoff Theatre, 1535 Broadway in New York City.

British playwright Joe Orton's classic dark comedy ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE, hits Los Angeles this June for a four week run at the Actors Company theater. The play, which originally debuted in London in 1964, tells a sexy, suspenseful, and often humorous story that continues to captivate and surprise audiences today. Director Stan Zimmerman leads an ensemble cast which includes: Ian Buchanan (The Bold and the Beautiful), Olivia d'Abo (THE WONDER YEARS), Emrhys Cooper (We Will Rock You) and Robin Gammell (NIP/TUCK).

Charles J. Bright, 74, a co-founder of American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI and one of the standard bearers of the classical theatre movement in America, died May 17, 2011 of complications following an 18 month battle with bladder cancer at his home in Great Meadow, NJ, according to classical theatre actor Randall Duk Kim and stage director Anne Occhiogrosso, Bright's life partners of four decades.

According to published reports, 'The Perfect Host,' starring stage and screen star David Hyde Pierce, is set for a theatrical release on July 1, 2011. The film, which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, also stars Clayne Crawford, Nathaniel Parker, Helen Reddy, Megahn Perry and Joseph Will.

Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-winning play, under the direction of Guthrie Associate Artistic Director John Miller-Stephany, pits two highly-strung couples against each other in a 90-minute laugh-out-loud comedy hailed as a 'four-way prize fight' by The New York Times.

James Earl Jones, who most recently starred as Hoke Colburn, the chauffeur in Driving Miss Daisy will return to Broadway in the role of the feisty, folksy and wily ex- U.S. President Arthur Hockstader in GORE VIDAL'S THE BEST MAN coming to Broadway in the spring of 2012.
