THE GRIFT Begins Tonight at La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse presents the latest presentation in its acclaimed Without Walls (WoW) series, THE GRIFT at the Lafayette Hotel, a world-premiere, immersive theatre piece, conceived, written and directed by Diabolical Muse's Tom Salamon, creator of the Playhouse's wildly-successful WoW production of Accomplice: San Diego. The show will run tonight, January 27 - February 22, 2015 at North Park's historic Lafayette Hotel.

Remember the kid in the horror movie 'The Omen' who turns out to be the anti-Christ? Gregory Peck checked the lad's scalp and found three sixes - the sign of the beast - in a circle? Well, if you were to check Wendell's scalp, you'd find three 'Hos' in a circle instead!

La Jolla Playhouse Appoints Jaime Castaneda as Associate Artistic Director

La Jolla Playhouse announces the appointment of Jaime Castañeda to the new position of Associate Artistic Director. In addition to joining the Playhouse's artistic team, Castañeda will direct several projects, including the final subscription show for the 2015/16 season, to be announced shortly.

The Orpheum Theatre President Announces Retirement

Pat Halloran, longtime President and CEO of the Memphis Development Foundation which operates The Orpheum Theatre, has announced plans to retire on December 31, 2015. Halloran joined the Memphis Development Foundation (MDF) in 1980 and will have completed 35 years of service at the time of his retirement.

Georgia Stitt and Jason Robert Brown's 'Waiting for Wings' Featured on Cincinnati Pops' Album CARNIVAL OF ANIMALS

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announces the release of its latest album, Carnival of the Animals, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording marks the 93rd Pops recording in its history (adding to an abundant legacy including a Grammy-winner) and the third under Mr. Russell. Carnival of the Animals will appear on the Orchestra's own label, Fanfare Cincinnati, and be distributed by Naxos.

Robert & Kristen Lopez's UP HERE, Phylicia Rashad-Helmed 'BLUEPRINTS' and More All-New Works Set for La Jolla Playhouse's 2015-16 Season

La Jolla Playhouse announces five shows for its 2015/2016 season, featuring all new works, including the world-premiere musical Come from Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by acclaimed Canadian husband-and-wife team Irene Sankoff and David Hein, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley; the world premiere of Indecent, co-created by director Rebecca Taichman (Playhouse's Sleeping Beauty Wakes, Milk Like Sugar), and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), co-produced with Yale Repertory Theatre; and Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, by Michael Benjamin Washington (Memphis, The Wiz), directed by The Cosby Show's Phylicia Rashad, which had its first workshop during the Playhouse's 2014 DNA New Work Series.

THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME Begins Tonight at La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, featuring a score by the multiple Academy, Grammy and Tony Award-winning team of composer Alan Menken (Newsies, Little Shop of Horrors) and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin), book by Peter Parnell (The West Wing, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever) and direction by Scott Schwartz (Playhouse's Jane Eyre, Broadway's Golda's Balcony). Produced in association with Paper Mill Playhouse, by special arrangement with Disney Theatrical Productions, The Hunchback of Notre Dame begins tonight, October 26, and runs through December 14, 2014 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Queens Theatre (QT) is pleased to announce that their 2014-2015 Season Dance Series will begin with performances by the world-renowned Martha Graham Dance Company today October 11 at 2pm & 8pmand Sunday, October 12 at 3pm at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park). Hanson And Cruttenden Lead Cast of ACCOLADE, Plays St James From Nov 2014

Full casting is announced for Emlyn Williams' masterpiece Accolade directed by award-winning director Blanche McIntyre. Alexander Hanson and Abigail Cruttenden lead the company as Will and Rona Trenting, with Bruce Alexander (Daker), Sam Clemmett (Ian Trenting), Claire Cox (Marion Tillyard), Daniel Crossley (Albert), Olivia Darnley (Phyllis), Jay Taylor (Harold) and Jay Villiers (Thane Lampeter). Accolade - produced by Nicola Seed - is the final production in Stage One's One Stage season at the St James Theatre.

San Diego Film Festival Sets 2014 Winners

The San Diego Film Festival, produced by the San Diego Film Foundation, announced today its full line up of 2014 Competition and Audience Award recipients. The 13th edition of the festival was held from September 24th through September 28th in San Diego, CA., with a special tribute night event “Variety's Night of the Stars: A Tribute” that took place on September 25th. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Opens Tonight at Judson Theatre Company

Two weeks from tonight is opening night for the Judson Theatre Company production of To Kill a Mockingbird, the final show of JTC's 2014 season.
