Tomorrow, Saturday 23 April 2016 the Royal Shakespeare Company will mark Shakespeare's birthday and the 400th anniversary of his death with a very special event -- SHAKESPEARE LIVE!

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) will present a book discussion and signing with Sir Antony Sher, actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company and author of Year of the Fat Knight, at the renowned Drama Book Shop in New York City, Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at 5:00pm.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new details of its 2016 London season. The Alchemist and Doctor Faustus will transfer directly from the Swan Theatre to the Barbican, playing in rep for a four-week run from August, with the same cast directed by Polly Findlay and Maria Aberg respectively. They will be followed by Cymbeline and King Lear, transferring from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, playing an eight-week run in rep from late October, directed by Melly Still and Gregory Doran respectively. In addition, following their Chichester Festival Theatre run, Love's Labours Lost and Much Ado About Nothing will travel to the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket in December.

In a major theatrical event marking the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, BAM, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and The Ohio State University present the US Premiere of Shakespeare's History plays in KING AND COUNTRY: SHAKESPEARE'S GREAT CYCLE OF KINGS. Following performances at the Barbican, and in China in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, the plays are directed by RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran and performed in repertory at the BAM Harvey Theater from tonight, Mar 24, through May 1, 2016.

The annual lecture honors the pioneering BBC journalist Richard Dimbleby.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre (SDAC) today (Wednesday 21 October 2015) signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on a new Chinese production of Henry V in 2016, premiering at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre in November 2016.

BAM has confirmed plans for Royal Shakespeare Company's productions of William Shakespeare's history plays, RICHARD II; HENRY IV Parts I and II; and HENRY V, all directed by RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran, to be performed in repertory at the BAM Harvey Theater from Mar 24 through May 1, 2016. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Donald R. Seawell, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Broadway producer and the first to bring the Royal Shakespeare Company to New York, died today, September 30, 2015. He was 103.
