The Bucks County Playhouse and Newtown Arts Company's Student Festival Begins 4/22

The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) and Newtown Arts Company welcome the return of a student theater festival to the newly reopened Playhouse after an absence of two years. The BCP Student Theater Festival, produced by Newtown Arts Company and the Playhouse, will feature high schools and middle schools from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. The Bucks County Playhouse is located at 70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA.

Princess Grace JustFilms Documentary Awards Return for a Second Year

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is proud to announce the second year of the Princess Grace JustFilms Documentary Awards, made possible by the Ford Foundation's JustFilms program. These grants are awarded to help support social justice documentary film projects: thesis projects by students or filmmakers' final projects at media arts centers. In this second year of the grant, an emphasis is placed on filmmakers who are Native/Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. In general, this includes Inuit people, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Native Hawaiians, First Nations, Métis, and indigenous peoples of Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Hunter Foster's SUMMER OF '42 to Play Bucks County Playhouse This Summer; Lonny Price Set to Direct!

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced Summer of '42 as the final piece of its first full summer season. Featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Little Shop of Horrors) and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Vanities), Summer of '42 is based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher. Tony Award nominee Lonny Price (A Class Act) makes his directorial return to the Bucks County Playhouse following A Grand Night for Singing, the first show of last year's grand re-opening.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced that single tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Playhouse Productions summer season. The world premiere of a new play by four time Tony Award -winning playwright Terrence McNally has been added to the list of previously announced shows. It will star Tony and Emmy Award- winner Tyne Daly. The balance of the season is made up of acclaimed musicals and plays and a production specifically for families. The summer season kicks off on Thursday, May 23rd at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA).

Finn Wittrock, Sarah Wayne Callies and Shuler Hensley to Lead THE GUARDSMAN at the Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced Finn Wittrock as The Actor, Sarah Wayne Callies as The Actress, and Shuler Hensley as The Critic in the Kennedy Center production of The Guardsman in the Eisenhower Theater May 25 to June 23, 2013. Based on the 1910 comedy by Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnar, The Guardsman features a new literal translation by Richard Nelson and is directed by Gregory Mosher. The press opening will take place on Thursday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Kirkland Performance Center Announces Spring Lineup

Lisa Loeb, (mom of two, children's author, musician and glasses designer) is best known for her geek-girl glasses and 90s hit "Stay (I Missed You)." On April 9 this busy working mom-musician travels to KPC in support of her new album "No Fairy Tale." Local flamenco guitarist Andre Feriante kicks of Mother's Day weekend on May 10th with a musical tour of the Mediterranean. Andre's performance features a wine tasting, captivating stories and exotic images to accompany his stunning guitar music. And what mom wouldn't be amazed by nineteen year old jazz sax phenom Grace Kelly (featuring Tineke Postma as the opening act). Grace Kelly performs on Saturday May 11. On Mother's Day, May 12, singer and puppeteer Mallory Lewis pays tribute to her own mother - the iconic children's entertainer Shari Lewis - in a family-friendly show titled A Lamb Chop Celebration.

Media Theatre to Honor Jed Bernstein, 2/23

Broadway and Bucks County Playhouse Producing Director Jed Bernstein will be recognized at The Media Theatre Gala on Saturday February 23 for his contribution to the American theatre. He will receive the 2013 Achievement in The Theatre Award during the evening's pre-show ceremony, which will culminate with a performance by Broadway star Justin Guarini.

Bucks County Playhouse has announced that Charles Busch's Tony Nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will be the final production of the 2013 Summer season. Performances run from Thursday, August 15th through Sunday, September 1st at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA). The cast will be announced shortly.

The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced that Olivia Oguma (Eve Ensler's Emotional Creature) will join Adriane Lenox and Andrea McArdle for the limited engagement of The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler and directed by Karen Carpenter. Oguma replaces Elizabeth Ashley who regretfully had to withdraw due to personal reasons and hopes to return to The Playhouse stage in the near future.
