Goodspeed Musicals, the only two-time Tony Award winning theatre in the country, has announced Band Geeks!, a new musical, that has been confirmed for a spring production at The Norma Terris Theatre. The smash hit from Goodspeed's 2009 Festival of New Artists, this feel-good musical comedy will run from May 13 through June 6, 2010.

Virginia Opera is wrapping up its 35th Anniversary Season with the scorching production of the Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. The production, also celebrating a famous 75th Anniversary, is a brave American classic bridging the gap between Broadway and opera. The clever love story between characters Porgy and Bess explodes with a fiery tempo, amid George and Ira Gershwin's distinguished style featuring jazz, Broadway, and opera. Porgy and Bess is based on DuBose Heyward's novel Porgy and the play of the same name he co-wrote with his wife Dorothy Heyward, which focuses on African-American life in the early 1920s in Catfish Row located in Charleston, South Carolina.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will runin the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30. Previews run April 28 - May 1. Opening night is Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available to subscribers only. Tom Jones, the lyricist and book writer of The Fantasticks, will reprise the role of Henry (The Old Actor) in The Fantasticks, the world's longest-running musical, in celebration of the show's 50th anniversary. Jones originated the role in 1960 when The Fantasticks premiered at The Sullivan Street Playhouse.

Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) and Bristol Riverside Theatre, in association with Neil Berg and Adam Friedson, will close its new production of the award-winning musical revue Closer Than Ever directed by Richard Malty. The birthplace of the hit musical Annie, Goodspeed Musicals is holding auditions for local Equity and Non-Equity child actors (GIRLS between ages 10-13) for its upcoming production of the new musical Radio Girl. Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 24th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. From this audition a small group of the luckiest girls will make it to the final round in New York City.
