Following its Tony-nominated hit Broadway run at Studio 54 seen by tens of thousands, The WOW Agency today announced that Tony Award winner John Leguizamo's one-man play LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS will embark on a North American tour launching at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York on June 20, 2019. The critically acclaimed production will continue to more than 15 cities across North America including stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Durham, Hartford, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and San Antonio among others, and will culminate with a seven-week engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Pre-sales for the Apollo engagement will begin Tuesday, April 2 at 10 a.m. ET, and will go on-sale to the public on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. ET.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will welcome back Bon Bon Burlesque with two more scintillating shows on Friday, February 22 and Friday, March 22, both at 9:30 PM. The acclaimed troupe returns to the club after their recent standing room only New Year's Eve celebration. The Puerto Rico-born, Bronx-bred choreographer and performer Marlyn Ortiz, along with choreographer Emmanuel E. Hernandez, directs an all-female cast of New York's hottest dancers, aerialists and comediennes in a show that sets traditional and neo-burlesque elements to Latin rhythms. The evening features the beautiful ladies of Bon Bon Burlesque, in addition to comedienne Lori Sommer, also known as "Madam Honey," singer Rachel Stern, also known as "Ray Ray Star," and Jose Mitaynes as "Manuel." The show includes songs such as La Lupe's "Latin Fever," Madonna's "Justify Your Love," and Esthero's "Wikked Lil' Girrrls."

Last night, Renee Taylor won the annual The United Solo Special Award, which recognizes artists who have made significant recent contributions to solo theatre during the year, for her critically acclaimed autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET. Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.
