When it was announced that Transport Group's compact production of bookwriter Douglas Carter Beane and composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn's giddily fun and sexy musical combo of Aristophanes and college hoops, Lysistrata Jones, was moving to Broadway, there was some understandable concern about the Off-Broadway production - originally staged on a gym's half-court - being able to fill out the much larger space. Not to worry. It turns out LJ was just aching for some much-needed elbow room to really fly. At the Walter Kerr, the production values have been expanded to enhance the freestyle romp without overwhelming it, the performances have grown with Broadway-sized confidence and the show is funnier and more delightful than ever.

In a post-performance interview with the Hollywood Reporter last night, DANCING WITH THE STARS contestant Ricki Lake discussed her performance as well as her excitement for her newly slimmed-down figure.
On last night's episode of ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS, all three couples competed against one another with two dances. The first number was a style the couples had not yet done. Then, all three contenders performed the always popular and fan favorite Freestyle dances, in the final one-hour performance show.
This is it - the final performance night for the stars to accumulate the scores that will put one on top and send the other two home empty-handed in the competition. They'll dance two dances tonight - a routine and a freestyle - and one more tomorrow.
The Off-Broadway musical revue THE GREENWICH VILLAGE FOLLIES will go on a winter hiatus following the 7:00pm performance on Sunday, November 20 at Manhattan Theatre Source (177 MacDougal Street), performances will commence again in Spring 2012.
