The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will opens its 2010-11 season with the world premiere of MIDDLETOWN, a play written by Will Eno (THOM PAIN), and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director for the Vineyard Theatre. Previews are to begin October 6, with an official opening night and casting TBA.

Along with revealing their crowd-pleasing line-up for the 20101-2011 season, the Boca Raton Theatre Guild has also announced it will now offer competitive compensation for actors, an occasional Equity contract, and will continue to employ top-notch directors such as Genie Croft. 'I see this as a major move forward in our evolution,' says BRTG Artistic Director Keith Garsson. 'We've been thinking along these lines for a while now, and the success we had with this summer's run of The Year of Magical Thinking with (Equity member and Carbonell Award winning actress) Angie Radosh just confirmed it - our audiences demand and enjoy quality. Bay Area Cabaret, the local organization devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, announced it has been invited to reopen the Fairmont Hotel's historic Venetian Room as a showroom, and given exclusive music booking rights to present its musical series in the city's legendary showroom. Said Marilyn Levinson, Founding Executive Producer of Bay Area Cabaret, now in its seventh season, 'The Venetian Room reigned supreme as America's premier supper club from 1947 to 1989. It was here that Tony Bennett introduced his signature song 'I Left My Heart in San Francisco' and show business legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Marlene Dietrich, Tina Turner, Joel Grey, Bobby Short, James Brown, Vic Damone, Nat 'King' Cole, and many, many other performers held forth for more than four decades.
