The Importance of Being Ernest Hemingway runs from August 17 to September 1, 2013 in a limited engagement at the Access Theater, located at 380 Broadway between Walker Street and White Street in New York City.

The Center for Contemporary Opera (CCO), founded in 1982 and recognized as a leading proponent of new opera, will present the World Premiere of 'Oration' by Danish composer Ms. Line Tjórnhój, and three operas-in-progress at its July 20-27 season at NYC's Cell Theater, 338 West 23rd Street. Theatre for a New Audience has been partnering for 15 years with P.S. 235 in Canarsie, Brooklyn, with an annual 13-week program that combines the experience of seeing a great Shakespearean play with in-depth classroom work. P.S. 235 is a Pre-K to Grade 8 school which attracts gifted and talented students, largely of Caribbean descent, from all over Brooklyn.

Czech-American author Birgitte Rasine's first novella, "Verse in Arabic," is a work of historical suspense set in Spain in 1946, ten years after the start of the Spanish Civil War. Ms. Rasine tells this compelling story from the point of view of an American journalist interviewing the main person of interest-a respected physician convicted of murder-21 years later. The tale unfolds in a double twist of fate that remains purposely unexplained, and is inspired by a true unsolved mystery.

Category 7 in association with La Salle Academy and Nativity Mission announces the cast and creative team for Stand-Up Tragedy, Bill Cain's searing 1991 play about a Lower East Side middle school, where an idealistic young teacher sets out to save one of his students from an abusive family and the streets. Directed by Nicholas Minas, performances begin at Nativity Church (44 2nd Avenue - between 2nd & 3rd Streets) tonight, April 12, 2013 and will continue through May 4.

The critically acclaimed New Century Theatre Company (NCTC) enters their fifth season by producing the world premiere of Kenneth Albers (Oregon Shakespeare Festival) recent adaptation of Franz Kafka's THE TRIAL. NCTC will take this story to new heights by presenting this powerful play inside Seattle's historic INS Building.
