THE UNDERSTUDY Comes to The Secret Theatre Tomorrow Night

The Understudy, written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Jenn Haltman, runs at The Secret Theatre (44-02 23rd St New York, NY 11101) beginning tomorrow night, May 28, and running through June 1, 2014.

Plays & Players and Power Street to Present Readings of NOGALAR, TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING and DARK MATTERS, June 2014

Plays & Players continues its collaboration with Power Street Theater Company with follow-up readings of El Nogalar by Tanya Saracho, Dark Matters by Oliver Mayer and To Catch the Lightning by Carmen Rivera. These three plays, representing 30/30/2, 30/30/3 and 30/30/4, were selected from a group of finalists chosen during the 30/30/1 full day event held with local theater and Latino community leaders in March, as part of a nation-wide event. The readings hope to serve as a further contribution to the already-growing conversation about the Latina/o voice and identity in the Philadelphia theater community.

Arthur Pita to Premiere THE WORLD'S GREATEST SHOW at Ip-Art Festival in July

Award-winning director & choreographer Arthur Pita is set to premiere THE WORLD'S GREATEST SHOW*, a new dance theatre event exploring the phenomenon of dance marathons in 1930s America. Opening at Greenwich Dance on Friday 27 & Saturday 28 June, the production will be performed at Ipswich Corn Exchange as part of the Ip-Art Festival on Friday 11 & Saturday 12 July, culminating with a performance at the Paul Hamlyn Hall, Royal Opera House on Sunday 27 July.

Bard SummerScape 2014 to Present World Premiere of LOVE IN THE WARS, 7/10-20

The Bard SummerScape festival is proud to present the world premiere of Love in the Wars, an adaptation of Heinrich von Kleist's romantic drama Penthesilea by the Booker Prize-winning novelist John Banville. Starring Obie Award-winner Birgit Huppuch and One Life to Live's Chris Stack, Bard's premiere production is by Ken Rus Schmoll, the Obie Award-winning director. Representing a fresh, playful and earthy take on Kleist's original, Love in the Wars will be presented in two previews and eight performances between July 10 and 20 in Theater Two of the Fisher Center - designed byFrank Gehry and celebrated since its opening as a major architectural landmark - on Bard's glorious Hudson Valley campus

Theatre Royal Bath Sets WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF?, HAY FEVER & More for 2014 Summer Season

The Theatre Royal Bath has announced its 2014 Summer Season, comprising four productions and starring Clare Higgins, Tim Pigott-Smith, Alison Steadman and Felicity Kendal. Beginning on 18th June with Edward Albee's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, the season continues with KAFKA'S DICK by Alan Bennett, followed by THERESE RAQUIN by Emile Zola, and concludes on 6th September with Noel Coward's HAY FEVER.

BWW Reviews: METAMORPHOSIS is Thrilling, Thought Provoking, and Thoroughly Entertaining

As I entered the auditorium of the Royal Alexandra Theatre this afternoon, I was relieved to be inside from the cold, and sat myself down to enjoy what I assumed would be ninety minutes of comfort in my plush seat. My comfort was short lived, however, as soon I found myself enthralled in the play Metamorphosis, adapted by David Farr and Gisli Orn Gardarsson from the short story by Franz Kafka.

NOISES OFF Opens Tonight at Rubicon Theatre

Rubicon Theatre continues the company's 16th Not Your Typical Season with sardines and lingerie in NOISES OFF, a comic romp by Michael Frayn about the outrageous exploits of a company of actors which opens tonight, February 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Rubicon Theatre, 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. The production continues Wednesdays through Sundays through February 23, with low-priced previews on Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m., Thursday, January 30 at 8 p.m. and Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m.

Jean Giraudoux's ONDINE Set for The Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium, 2/7-3/2

The rarely-performed classic Ondine, considered to be French playwright Jean Giraudoux's finest work, will preview at the Walnut Street Theatre Studio 5 Wednesday, February 5 and Thursday February 6, and will open Friday, February 7 running through March 2, 2014. Curtain for all shows is 7:30 pm for Tuesday through Saturday shows and 2:30pm for Sunday matinees.
