Artistic Director Sean Murray is proud to announce Cygnet Theatre's second World Premiere production - acclaimed local writer Richard Platt's RIPPLES FROM WALDEN POND - An Evening with Henry David Thoreau. This production, which began as a staged-reading in collaboration with Write Out Loud, will once again feature Cygnet Resident Artist Francis Gercke as Thoureau, and will be directed by Eric Poppick. RIPPLES FROM WALDEN POND will run for four performances only, April 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th at 7:30pm. All four performances will take place at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town State Historic Park.

Artistic Director Sean Murray is tackling the story of one family's tensions, heartbreak and failings with a group that is almost like a family itself. The autobiographical memory play of Williams' life has been cast entirely with Cygnet Resident Artists - Rosina Reynolds, Francis Gercke, Amanda Sitton and Brian Mackey. Sean Murray directs. Previews begin October 19th, 2011, and the Press Opening is October 22nd, 2011.

Motivated by Cygnet's collaborative internship program with SDSU, as well as Cygnet Artist graduates and teachers from San Diego area schools, Cygnet Theatre is delighted to announce its newest program, the $10 STUDENT TICKET PROGRAM. Throughout Cygnet's 2011/2012 Season, theatre teachers from local schools are invited to bring their classes to any Cygnet show for just $10 per student ticket. Students must show a valid school ID to receive their $10 ticket, and quantities are limited.

Making the rehearsal process even more impressive...all three shows feature the same distinguished cast. Artistic Director Sean Murray and Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke are pleased to announce the cast of Alan Ayckbourn's trilogy - THE NORMAN CONQUESTS - which includes Danny Campbell, Sandy Campbell, Ron Choularton, Albert Dayan, Joanne Glover and Frances Anita Rivera. The three full-length plays (Table Manners, Round and Round the Garden and Living Together) run in rotating repertory July 28th through November 7th, 2010. Press Openings are Saturday, August 7th at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm.
While Cygnet's mainstage buzzes with the highly praised productions of not one, but three Alan Ayckbourn comedies in its current run of THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, the continuation of the Playwright Companion Series will offer with not one, but two opportunities to dig deeper into the esteemed playwrights work with upcoming 'partner pieces.' Ayckbourn's overnight smash, RELATIVELY SPEAKING will be presented on Monday, September 13th at 7:00pm and TIME OF MY LIFE will be presented on Monday, September 27th at 7:00pm. Both readings will be performed at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town.
