Following the success of the previous two festivals, the 3rd Annual New York Hot Jazz Festival -- produced by the impresario Michael 'Misha' Katsobashvili, performer Bria Skonberg, and composer/producer Patrick Soluri (of Prohibition Productions and The Salon) -- returns to The Players this year and promises some of the biggest stars of the Hot Jazz and swing scenes in a summit of uptown and downtown talent spanning three generations.

Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 22, 2014 -- The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will celebrate opening night of its 25th anniversary season with one of the best-known and most critically-acclaimed musicians on the planet. Led by nine-time Grammy Award winner Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will perform on the Lied Center Main Stage at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

Celebrity Series of Boston will present Abyssinian: A Gospel Celebration featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis,on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 7pm at Symphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston. Media partner is 89.7 WGBH.

The Deer Valley Music Festival, summer home of Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, is celebrating ten years of music in the mountains with a festival lineup that highlights the diversity of the orchestra and its audience. The 2013 Festival features seventeen performances from June 29 to August 10 at venues in Park City, Utah, including ten performances at Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheatre which was recently highlighted by CNN as one of eight 'amazing' outdoor concert venues. The first three Festival events will take place on June 29, July 5 and July 6.

Trav'lin - The New 1930s Harlem Musical, will receive its Regional Premiere production at Fort Worth's Jubilee Theatre in Spring 2013. The musical, which received a developmental production in 2010 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), runs tonight, March 29, 2013 through April 28, 2013.

Vince Giordano's band (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) has been around for 35 years, but seemingly are getting more popular with age. For example, they've become HBOs go-to vintage jazz band, popping up in the 2009 film version of Grey Gardens, the 2011 mini-series Mildred Pierce, and the original series Boardwalk Empire (for which the band a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack). While there are a few other bands around the country playing 1920s and 1930s jazz, swing and blues, the Nighthawks deserve most of the credit for keeping the genre alive . . . and live, and they shined recently at Rose Hall for Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Recently featured on the acclaimed HBO program 'Boardwalk Empire,' the Giordano will feature early jazz favorites from the 1920s and 30s. Featuring jazz and blues vocalist John Dokes (in the style of Joe Williams and Billy Eckstine), George Gee and his big band orchestra pay tribute to the swingin' music of Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb and many other Savoy Ballroom jazz icons. This marks the return of regular Big Band Jazz to Uptown NYC after a long hiatus.
