The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, announced today the nominees for its 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. Karl Scully has graced the international opera stages in Italy in Orvietto at the Teatro Mancinelli and as resident tenor at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Italy . He has performed most recently at the Barga Opera Festival in 2010. Not to be confined to one avenue to showcase his musical talent, Karl Scully appeared with Ewan McGregor in the film 'Nora' as he portrayed the legendary tenor Count John McCormack. In 2006, Mr. Scully joined the sensational international group 'The Irish Tenors', and starred in their television show 'The Irish Tenors and Friends'.

Jane Krakowski Performs at 40th Anniversary Lupus Fundraiser, 11/22

The S.I.E. Lupus Foundation has announced the addition of Jane Krakowski, Tony award-winner and two-time Emmy nominee (of '30 Rock'), to perform at the 40th Anniversary Life Without Lupus Gala. Beginning at 6 p.m., the Gala will take place at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on Monday, November 22, and will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner and a live and silent auction. The evening will honor the founders -- the Golick family -- and Human Genome Sciences/ GlaxoSmithKline. The foundation has been serving the Lupus community since 1970, providing support for families coping with and suffering from this autoimmune disease; particularly those in and around the disadvantaged neighborhoods of New York City and Los Angeles. All proceeds from the Gala event will help in the Foundation's mission to promote and increase awareness, research and ongoing care.
Film and Television Industry Expected to Boost Irish Economy by €200 Million This Year

Mary Hanafin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport visited the set of the feature film ‘Neverland' currently in production in Ireland. ‘Neverland' is one of many film and TV productions filming in Ireland this year which will be exported to audiences around the globe. It is estimated that, despite the global financial downturn, the entire film and television industry will contribute an estimated €200 million to the Irish economy in 2010 in terms of spend on local goods, employment and services.
