Ars Nova's THE NETFLIX PLAYS to Begin, Jan 30

Ars Nova kicks off its 2013 season with The Netflix Plays, which begins performances January 30. This production, the newest installment from Ars Nova's Play Group, is set to play 10 performances from January 30 - February 9. The Netflix Plays, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production, features original short plays and live music inspired by the recommendation categories on the Netflix website.

Alex Davis, Chris Henry Coffey, Christopher Ryan Grant and More Join SHAVING at Joe's Pub; Full Cast Announced!

Casting is set for the upcoming one-night-only world premiere performance of selections and music from Shaving, a new musical by writer/performer Alex Davis, at Joe's Pub on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7pm. Based on his one-man-show, Alex Davis: Man of the Year, seen a year ago at the famed Knitting Factory Brooklyn, Shaving is a powerful rock musical memoir about love and self-transformation with music & lyrics by Alex Davis and a book by Alex Davis & Miranda Russo. Directed by Joseph Hendel and featuring a live band under the musical direction of Kris Kukul, Shaving features a cast of 7.

TEDDY FERRARA Begins 2/2 at the Goodman Theatre

Rehearsals are underway for the world-premiere production of the Goodman-commissioned Teddy Ferrara by Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Shinn, praised as 'among the most provocative and probing of American playwrights today' (The New York Times). Evan Cabnet directs this stirring exploration of an on-campus tragedy with a cast that includes Liam Benzvi (Gabe), Patrick Clear (University President), Rashaad Hall (Nicky), Ryan Heindl (Teddy Ferrara), Christopher Imbrosciano (Jay), Jax Jackson (Jaq), Dev Kennedy and Fawzia Mirza (Campus Police), Paloma Nozicka (Jenny), Adam Poss (Drew), Josh Salt (Tim), Kelli Simpkins (Ellen) and Janet Ulrich Brooks (University Provost). The design team includes Jenny Mannis (Costume Designer), Keith Parham (Lighting Designer), Lee Savage (Set Designer) and Richard Woodbury (Sound Designer). Rehearsal photos, headshots and bio information can be found in the Press Room. Teddy Ferrara runs February 2 - March 3, 2013 in the Owen Theatre (opening night is Monday, February 11). Jonny Orsini and Lewis J. Stadlen Join Nathan Lane in Broadway's THE NANCE

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Jonny Orsini and Lewis J. Stadlen will join two-time Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane in its upcoming production of THE NANCE, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane to be directed by Jack O'Brien. The production will begin previews on Thursday, March 21 and open on Monday, April 15 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45 Street). Additional casting for THE NANCE will be announced at a later date.

Marsha Stephanie Blake, Eisa Davis and More Set for LCT3's LUCK OF THE IRISH

Marsha Stephanie Blake, Eisa Davis, Dashiell Eaves, Frank Harts, Robert Hogan, Jenny O'Hara, Carra Patterson, Amanda Quaid and Victor Williams will be featured in the LCT3 production of Kirsten Greenidge's LUCK OF THE IRISH, directed by Rebecca Taichman. LUCK OF THE IRISH begins performances Monday, January 28 and opens on Monday, February 11 for a six- week limited engagement through Sunday, March 10 at the Claire Tow Theater, LCT3's new home atop the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street).

Goodman Theatre announces casting for the world-premiere production of Teddy Ferrara by Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Shinn, praised as 'among the most provocative and probing of American playwrights today' (The New York Times) and noted as having 'his finger firmly on both the political and dramatic pulse of our times" (The Telegraph). A Goodman Theatre Commission-and part of the Goodman's 2011 New Stages festival-Teddy Ferrara, directed by Evan Cabnet, explores what happens when a tragedy sparks a movement--and the truth gets lost along the way.
