Today we are talking to a spectacularly talented stage and screen star who has appeared in countless film and TV properties over the years as well as in many remarkable theatrical productions all about her major role on the USA special miniseries event POLITICAL ANIMALS, which concludes this Sunday at 9 PM - Carla Gugino. THE GRÖNHOLM METHOD Makes American Premiere at Falcon Theatre, Now thru 9/30

Baby Tiger Productions, Daniel Wallace and Trish Whitehurst in association with the Falcon Theatre present the American premiere of The Gronholm Method written by Jordi Galceran Ferrer, translated by Anne Garcia-Romero and Mark St. Germain and directed by BT McNicholl, the first production of the Falcon Theatre's 2012-2013 Subscription Season.

Court Theatre Presents JITNEY, 9/6-10/14

Court Theatre kicks off its 2012-13 season with August Wilson's Jitney directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson.Jitney is the fourth play in Wilson's Century Cycle to be produced at Court Theatre under Parson's direction. The production will runSeptember 6 - October 14, 2012 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. The press opening will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.

Public Theatre of Southern California Announces Reading of Dustin Lance Black's '8', 9/21

Civic leaders and a star-studded cast will perform a one-night- only reading of "8, The Play," with Public Theatre of Southern California, with license from the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact. "8, The Play," chronicles the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California's Proposition 8, written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and AFER Founding Board Member Dustin Lance Black. The performance will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 21st at The Ernest Borgnine Theater, located at 855 Elm Avenue in downtown Long Beach.

Full Cast and Creative Announced for Stable Cable Lab Co.'s THE EDEN PROJECT, 8/24-9/1

Theater for the New City & Crystal Field (Artistic Director) have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of THE EDEN PROJECT, a new play devised by Stable Cable Lab Co., directed by Seth Hamlin, and choreographed by KC Luce as part of the 3rd annual Dream Up Festival. THE EDEN PROJECT will begin performances on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Theater for the New City (155 First Ave. - between 10th & 11th Streets). The production is scheduled to run through September 1st.

Geva's Director of Artistic Engagement Set for Playwriting Seminar in Estonia

Sean Daniels, Geva's newly appointed Director of Artistic Engagement/Artist at Large, will head off to Estonia this week for "Stage Island" the International Seminar on Contemporary Playwriting on Hiiumaa Island. The seminar gathers a director, playwright, and dramaturg or literary advisor and team of actors from the USA and each of four Baltic nations: Estonia, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland, to develop new scripts from the participating countries and secure English translations for the plays developed during the conference. The conference will also establish new artistic contacts and collaborations between countries.

Wandering Bark Theatre Company Presents THE SEAGULL at Secret Theatre, 9/5-25

Wandering Bark Theatre Company and Jack Sharkey present THE SEAGULL by Anton Chekhov, in a new translation by Graham Schmidt, directed by Christopher Diercksen and produced by Joseph Mitchell Parks, Valerie Redd and Jack Sharkey. The show will run September 5-15, 2012, at The Secret Theatre.

Sonnet Repertory Theatre Presents THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, Beg. Tonight, 8/9

Sonnet Repertory Theatre celebrates a decade of producing classic theatre for the modern planet with a world-premiere adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Michael Raver, directed by Quin Gordon. The Picture of Dorian Gray will begin performances tonight, August 9, with an official opening slated for Friday, August 10, at The Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Irish Repertory Theatre Extends NEW GIRL IN TOWN Through Sept 14

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre announces a one-week extension of Bob Merrill and George Abbott's NEW GIRL IN TOWN - a musical based on Eugene O'Neill's ANNA CHRISTIE - with performances now through September 14 on the Irish Repertory's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage (132 West 22nd Street).

Bobby Cannavale, Matt McGrath to Take Part in 8 Benefit Reading at Williamstown Theatre Festival, 8/6

Williamstown Theatre Festival will take a look at arguably the most contentious social issue of the 21st Century when the Festival presents a reading of "8" on Monday. Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the cast and creative team for the one-night-only event, which will be presented on the Main Stage on Monday, August 6 in a staged reading benefitting Broadway Impact and American Foundation for Equal Rights. T he performance will be followed by a talkback.
