Rupert Goold, the Almeida Theatre's Artistic Director, will direct the World Premiere ofAmerican Psycho, a new musical thriller with book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. It will run from 3 December 2013 to 25 January 2014 with Press Night on 12 December.

The Daily Mail reports that Simon Cowell has finally cast the actor who will portray him in the new X FACTOR musical I CAN'T SING, set to begin performances at the London Palladium on February 27. It's Nigel Harman, who won an Olivier for his role as 'Lord Farquaad' in SHREK THE MUSICAL in the West End. In addition, Cynthia Erivo, currently starring in Menier Chocolate Factory's revival of THE COLOR PURPLE, has been cast in the lead.
The U.S. premiere of Massive Attack V Adam Curtis will open at Park Avenue Armory September 28. The Headlong and Almeida Theatre's five star sold-out co-production of Lucy Kirkwood's new play Chimerica will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre tonight, 6 August for a strictly limited 11 week run with booking to 19 October 2013. Directed by Lyndsey Turner, Chimerica received its world premiere at The Almeida Theatre where it has subsequently been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. Set designs are by Es Devlin with costumes by Christina Cunningham, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Carolyn Downing and video design by Finn Ross. Chimerica will be produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Bob Bartner/Norman Tulchinand Jean Doumanian.
