Mentored in his early career by Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle is known as a formidable repentista, or improviser of rhymes. With 16 studio albums to his credit, he has become known as an interpreter of the complex, radio-ready lyrics of 'amor y desamor' (love and its trials), but the power of his performances comes from his mastery of traditional Puerto Rican singing.

Latin Music USA is a story about American music, reaching across time and across musical genres to embrace the exciting hybrid sounds created by Latinos - fusions that have deeply enriched popular music in the US for more than five decades.

The induction and awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Special award honorees will be announced at a later date.
Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County hosts the return of the hit musical CELIA: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF CELIA CRUZ. From June 2 - 21, 2009, South Florida audiences will witness the story of how the marvelous 'queen of salsa' rose to musical fame over the course of 60 years. The last CELIA: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF CELIA CRUZ run at the Adrienne Arsht Center was the launching point for the show's international tour and drew more than 20,000 attendees, including celebrities such as Gloria and Emilio Estefan, talk show host Cristina Saralegui and many more.
