Miriam Zendle gets a little bit over-excited about the announced details of the Globe's 2010 season

Playwright Nell Leyshon's work 'Bedlam' will mark the first ever staging of a female playwright in the 400-year history of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Shakespeare's Globe confirms further details of the 2010 Kings and Rogues theatre season, following a record-breaking 2009 which achieved the highest attendance figures ever in its 13 year history, as well as seeing the Globe reach new audiences all over the UK, Europe and the US through touring, and having its productions filmed for the first time.

It was announced today that the Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire won the Theatre Award at the final South Bank Show Awards. The production ran from August to October 2009 with a cast including Jack Ashton, Elliot Cowan, Charles Daish, Judy Hepburn, Barnaby Kay, Gary Milner, Daniela Nardini, Luke Rutherford, Rachel Weisz, and Ruth Wilson.
