This is easily the most excited I have been for an episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE all season. Even though I picked three of the four finalists as major contenders when the Top-20 was announced (and five of the final six, thank you you very much), this is definitely not the Final Four (Zack Everhart, Jessica Richens, Valerie Rockey and Ricky Ubeda) that I thought we would have just a few weeks ago. That being said, each has managed to have a breathtaking moment or four, however, with the exception of Ricky, each has also had their share of missteps as well.
"It's just like... singing, with your body," says Happy Feet film penguin Mumble. Savion Glover, who created the movement of that beloved character, needed no movie magic to show audiences exactly what it is like to unite motion and music in the first of three performances at Washington, DC's Howard Theatre. Throughout the night, Glover's feet conducted a conversation: percussive, playful, insistent.

As iconic in 2014 for her timeless beauty and sex appeal as she is her artistic versatility as an all around entertainer, Ms. Freda Payne remains among music's and show business' brightest shining star survivors. Her new album, Come Back To Me Love (her first for Artistry Music) marks not only a return to the big band and strings-laden classics from her mid-`60s beginnings with Impulse!, but also marks a return to her hometown of Detroit. That makes this 14-song album featuring Grammy Award-winner Bill Cunliffe's musical arrangements a beautiful homecoming.
Bringing a contemporary variation on the traditional coming of age story, David Roussève/REALITY comes to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival with the company's latest dance-theatre work, Stardust, August 6-10.
