It's official! Tony Award-winner Alfie Boe, the British tenor acclaimed for his role as 'Jean Valjean' in the widely watched 2010 25th anniversary special televised concert at London's O2 arena of LES MISERABLES, and then again in the West End's 2011 production, will take over the role of 'J.M. Barrie' in Broadway's FINDING NEVERLAND on Tuesday, March, 29. No word yet on whether he will travel with the show when it returns to London in January 2017.
FINDING NEVERLAND recently partnered with Canon and The Situation Project to bring a little bit of magic to a group of local Bronx students. The Broadway musical welcomed MS 343 students to photograph a dress rehearsal, marking the first-of-its-kind experience in allowing students to learn more about their passion for photography and theatre. The producers of Broadway's Finding Neverland have regretfully announced that the beloved stage and screen actress Sandy Duncan, who recently joined the magical production in the role of Madame Du Maurier, must take an immediate, yet temporary leave of absence from the show due to family obligations. The entire company looks forward to warmly welcoming Ms. Duncan back to Neverland as soon as she's able to return. The show, playing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street), will continue with its current stars Tony Yazbeck, Kelsey Grammer and Laura Michelle Kelly, supported by a cast of Broadway's best. Ms. Duncan's replacement will be announced shortly.
