Amas Musical Theatre has announced the first two shows of its 45th Season! The Amas Lab series begins in September with two new musicals: notes to MariAnne and Cookin'! Both shows take place during America's heady post-World War II years, but couldn't be more different.

Heralded by The New York Times for its 'good-time funkiness,' David Dorfman Dancereturns to The Joyce Theater from January 24-29, 2012 with the NYC Premiere of Prophets of Funk, a work that reinvigorates 'boomer memories to the sounds of Sly & the Family Stone.' 'Dynamos,' Carol Linnea Johnson, Corinne Melançon & Stacia Fernandez. Also attending will be some of LPTW 30th Anniversary Leading Ladies: Ruby Dee, Eve Ensler, Rosemary Harris, LaChanze, Elizabeth McCann, Estelle Parsons, Chita Rivera & Fran Weissler.
