NBC's FASHION STAR Bumped to Fridays for Season 2; To Premiere 3/8

NBC's reality competition series 'Fashion Star' will premiere its second season on Friday, March 8, 2013 (8-9 p.m. ET). This season, 13 talented designers from around the country, including a team of two competing together, will vie for the multi-million dollar prize of launching a clothing line in Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express. As previously announced, celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos return to the show and Louise Roe joins this season as host.

Frightened Rabbit Announces Spring 2013 Tour Dates

To celebrate the upcoming release of their highly anticipated new album 'PEDESTRIAN VERSE,' Canvasback/Atlantic recording group Frightened Rabbit has unveiled details of their headlining North American Spring tour. The acclaimed Scottish rock band will begin its cross-country trek on March 8th at Seattle's Showbox at the Market and continue through April. Most entertainment outlets in Columbia are providing holiday-inspired fare in December. However, Trustus Theatre - always pursuing an opportunity to bring something fresh and different to the table - is offering a musical comedy about friends writing a musical about writing a musical. [TITLE OF SHOW] - taken from the space on a music theatre festival's application form which asks for the [title of show] - is a piece that hilariously and irreverently follows creative artists through the gauntlet of self-expression under a deadline. [TITLE OF SHOW] opens on the Thigpen Main Stage tonight, December 7th, 2012 at 8:00pm. The show runs through December 16th. After a break for the holidays, the show runs January 3rd through the 12th after Columbia rings in the New Year.

A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory Collaborates With Scotland's Aberdeen Performing Arts Young Person Company for Exchange Program

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory (YC) Director Craig Slaight announced today a collaboration with Scotland's Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA) Young Persons Company as part of a two-year summer international exchange program. The purpose of the program is to explore actor training for both companies in unique residencies in Aberdeen and San Francisco. At the conclusion of each year, the companies will present a co-commissioned work at their respective theaters.

STC Presents THE STRANGE UNDOING OF PRUDENCIA HART, 11/14-12/9

On the heels of the successful Black Watch, the Shakespeare Theatre Company will bring a second production from the National Theatre of Scotland to D.C. audiences. Acclaimed Scottish playwright David Greig's The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart will play from November 14-December 9, 2012. For the first time in STC's history, the play will be staged outside of a traditional theatre and will be performed in DuPont Circle's Bier Baron Tavern (1523 22nd Street NW).

Performances take place tonight, July 12 through August 26. Talk-backs will follow the performance every Thursday night beginning July 19: stay after the performance to ask questions and discuss the play with various cast members.

David Greig & David Harrower Double Bill Set for August at the Traverse

The Traverse will bring together two of Scotland's mos famous playwrights, David Greig and David Harrower, in a special double bill as one of the Theatre's flagship shows for its 2012 Festival Programme this August. Presented back to back, David Greig's The Letter of Last Resort and David Harrower's Good With People take us from London to Helensburgh, tracing the paths of personal and political destruction in two highly-charged stories.

9 US Premieres Plus URBAN Set for New Victory Theatre 2012-13 Season

The New Victory Theater will launch its 2012-13 season with the U.S. premiere of URBAN by Circolombia, an edgy, thrilling and inspiring circus featuring young Colombian performers who share their real-life stories through acrobatics, aerial work and tremendous feats of strength. URBAN, which was originally commissioned by Roundhouse London as part of CircusFest 2010, will run from October 12 through October 21.
