Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) kicks off its 16th season with  the world premiere of Evensong written by Christina Quintana and directed by David Mendizabal.

'People backstage should never be seen or heard - until now' - that's the maxim that the new web series 'Ghost Light' put to the test in its series premiere, launched recently on YouTube. An original series, 'Ghost Light' highlights the passion, humor, and frustration that working backstage can bring. Since its launch at the end of January, it has been received enthusiastically by the theater community and internet audiences everywhere.

This spring, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from St. Mark's Church, to Tompkins Square Park, Central Park, and more. The directors concluded their class this past week by fully producing Chekhov on the Hudson - six short Chekhov adaptations near the Hudson River. Ego Actus is pleased to announce two additional performances to their run of Aliens With Extraordinary Skills, the critically acclaimed play by Saviana Stanescu. The added shows will be performed on Saturday, November 12th at 5pm and Saturday, November 19th at 5pm.

On Friday, September 5, at 8pm the Midtown International Theater Festival Awards will take place. The MITF Awards will honor the best shows and performances from the recently completed Ninth Annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, which took place from July 14-August 10 of this year.

One can find solace in the strangest of places, as shown when several emotionally broken artistic folk converge at a photographer's studio in Elisa Abatsis' bittersweet and funny drama, DAGUERREOTYPES. Directed by Karen Raphaeli and presented by Shoes for Royalty Productions, the show will have its World Premiere on July 15 at Where Eagles Dare Theatre, located at 347 West 36th Street, as part of the Ninth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival.
