THIRTEEN's Broadway: The American Musical Returns To PBS, 10/7

Today, with musicals such as The Book of Mormon enjoying phenomenal box office success, revivals like The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess delighting new generations, and musical stage versions of popular films such as Once and Newsies dominating the Tony Awards, Broadway is proving yet again that its vitality and magic endure. Nominated for five 2005 Primetime Emmy Awards and winner of two, including Outstanding Nonfiction Series, THIRTEEN's landmark Broadway: The American Musical returns Sunday, October 7 at 10 p.m., and continues on six consecutive Sundays through November 11 (check local listings).

James Moye, Rita Harvey and More to Join CLOSER THAN EVER

The York Theatre Company in association with Edward Negley, Neil Berg and Adam Friedson, will welcome James Moye (Dogfight, Million Dollar Quartet) to the cast of Closer Than Ever with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Music by David Shire, filling in for George Dvorsky from September 25 - October 7, due to a prior commitment.

Stephen Hanna Joins the Cast of SILENCE! Tonight

Beginning tonight, September 19th, Stephen Hanna will be the new Dream Hannibal in Off-Broadway's SILENCE! The Musical at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. The Elektra Theatre has been specially constructed to be the new home of SILENCE! and is located at 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.)

Donna McKechnie, Kelly Bishop, and More Set for Marvin Hamlisch Tribute at Paper Mill Playhouse, 10/7

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee- Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director) has just announced that the New Jersey Theater will tribute A Chorus Line composer Marvin Hamlisch at the official opening of the show on Sunday, October 7th at 7:00pm. Kelly Bishop joins director Mitzi Hamilton along with Donna McKechnie and dozens of A Chorus Line cast members from 1975 through 1990. Directly following the curtain call, A Chorus Line Broadway alumni will join the Paper Mill Playhouse cast on stage as they reprise a section of the "Finale" in tribute to Mr. Hamlisch. Any cast member from the Broadway production of A Chorus Line from 1975-1990 is encouraged to call Kelly Stevens at Paper Mill Playhouse at 973.315.1640 or email at kstevens@papermill.org to reserve their free tickets. Following the tribute there will be a red carpet, cast/reunion party in Downtown Millburn.

York Theatre Company Announces MAN WITH A LOAD OF MISCHIEF Concerts, 10/1 & 2

Continuing their "Celebration of Off-Broadway,' The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), will present a staged concert production - similar in style to their acclaimed Musicals in Mufti Series - of the 1966 musical Man with a Load of Mischief, with music by John Clifton, lyrics by Clifton and Ben Tarver, and book by Tarver. Directed by Jenn Thompson with music direction by Bryan Wade, Man with a Load of Mischief will play three performances only, Monday, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 2 at 3:00 p.m. at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's. Casting will be announced shortly.

Harry Bouvy Returns to SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Tomorrow

Original cast member Harry Bouvy is set to return as Dr. Chilton in Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical tomorrow, September 12th at the new Elektra Theatre in Times Square.

York's CLOSER THAN EVER Now On Sale Through 11/25

A new block of tickets are now on sale for one of the best reviewed Off-Broadway shows of the year, Closer Than Ever with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire. Tickets are now on sale through Novembefr 18, 2012 at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Celebrity blogger and television personality Perez Hilton checked out the smash Off-Broadway hit SILENCE! The Musical this past Friday evening, August 31st at the brand new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Afterward he tweeted, 'Saw SILENCE! in NYC. Loved! Davis Gaines and More Star in SILENCE! THE MUSICAL's West Coast Premiere at Hayworth Theatre Tonight, 8/31

Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, will open a Los Angeles company with performances beginning tonight, August 31, at the Hayworth Theatre. This engagement marks the West Coast Premiere of the Off-Broadway hit. The press opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2012. SILENCE! The Musical is produced by Theater Mogul.

Catherine Zeta-Jones to Narrate GPR's THE RUNAWAY BUNNY Recording, Set for Release, 11/15

GPR Records will release a recording of Catherine Zeta-Jones narrating The Runaway Bunny, based on the best selling children's classic by Margaret Wise Brown. Also on the CD will be English Baritone Mark Stone singing Goodnight Moon and a special guest superstar narrating Poulenc's Babar, The Elephant.
