Finneran Announces Pregnancy; Departs PROMISES Oct. 10, 2010

It has been a banner year for PROMISES, PROMISES' Katie Finneran. Her critically acclaimed performance as Marge MacDougall in the smash hit musical comedy PROMISES, PROMISES swept the 2010 awards season winning her the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. On Sunday, August 22, Ms. Finneran married long time companion Darren Goldstein (Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson), and now the couple has announced that they are expecting a child this winter. It is with best wishes that the producers of PROMISES, PROMISES announced today that Tony Award winner Katie Finneran will play her final performance in the smash hit musical comedy on Sunday, October 10, 2010. This new production of PROMISES, PROMISES, directed and choreographed by Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford with Neil Simon's funny and touching book and Burt Bacharach and Hal David's hit-packed score, began previews at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) Saturday, March 27, 2010, and opened on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Casting for Broadway's next Marge MacDougall will be announced shortly.

Chenoweth Extends in PROMISES; To Exit with Hayes 12/26

The producers of the Tony Award-winning production of PROMISES, PROMISES are thrilled to announce that Tony and Emmy Award winner and 2010 Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth has extended her run in the smash hit musical comedy for three additional months. Kristin Chenoweth and her Tony-nominated and Emmy Award-winning co-star Sean Hayes will play their final performance together in PROMISES, PROMISES on Sunday, December 26, 2010.

SPIDER-MAN Announces Complete Cast!

Lead producer Michael Cohl today announced the complete cast for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, which begins rehearsals this morning. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) on November 14, with opening night set for December 21.

SPIDER-MAN Officially Begins Rehearsals 8/16

The New York Times has just announced that rehearsals for the much-delayed and much anticipated SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark, will officially begin on August 16, 2010. According to the report, some choreography and aerial flying lessons began on Monday for some of the cast, including Spidey himself, Reeve Carney.

Casting has been announced for the Salt Lake City engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Salt Lake City's most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Capitol Theatre stage from Wednesday, August 11 to Sunday, September 26, 2010. THE LION KING, Vancouver Sets Record for Highest Grossing Week in Canadian History

The Lion King set a new record for the single highest box office gross in Canadian theatrical history in its final week at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver last week. The record-smashing gross of $1.9 Canadian ($1.87 US) occurred in a week when all five of Disney Theatrical Productions' North American productions topped $1 million in gross, with the cumulative total exceeding $7 million.

COME FLY AWAY to Close September 5

The critically acclaimed Broadway musical COME FLY AWAY will conclude its Broadway run on Sunday, September 5 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway at 46th Street) after 26 previews and 187 regular performances. Conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and featuring vocals by Frank Sinatra, COME FLY AWAY will launch a national tour in May, 2011 in Chicago.
