The Neil Simon Theatre box office (250 West 52 Street) will open today, August 8, and Mr. Softee will be on hand to celebrate, handing out free ice cream outside the theatre from 1pm-4pm in honor of the special day.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announces the opening of the sixth production of the 2013 Main Stage season: The World Premiere musical, The Bridges of Madison County, opens tonight and plays on the Main Stage through August 18, following preview performances that began August 1. The Bridges of Madison County, a new musical, based on the best selling novel by Robert James Waller, will begin performances on Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street), with an opening night late February 2014. The story takes us deep into the heart of our country and tells the very moving story of a beautiful young woman leaving Italy and suddenly living in Iowa... and her joyful discovery of love. Tony Award-winner Faith Prince will return to Broadway as evil orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in the new Broadway production of ANNIE at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets). She will begin performances tonight, July 19. Emmy Award-winning 'Glee' star Jane Lynch will play her final performance as Miss Hannigan on Sunday, July 14.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the full cast and creative team for the sixth production, the third and final of the 2013 Main Stage season: The Bridges of Madison County will be presented on the Main Stage from August 1 - 18, 2013. Press night is Saturday, August 3 at 8:00 p.m.

The Actors Fund, a national human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, is pleased to announce that the producer, cast, and management of Disney's THE LION KING have added a special performance to benefit The Fund on Thursday, August 22 at 1:00pm at The Belk Theater in Charlotte, NC. The acting company will donate their time and talent for this performance that will directly benefit The Actors Fund.

The Associated Press reports that Disney Theatrical Group's North American tour of THE LION KING has hit $1 billion in grosses since its launch in 2002.
