Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, actress and former Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley, has passed away in Beverly Hills, CA following a long battle with breast cancer. She was 75.

Playwright Jamie Morris ('Mommie Queerest,' 'The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode,' and 'The Silence of the Clams') ' is at it again with his latest comedy parody. This time around he spoofs another popular 1980s sitcom, sending up the gals of the Sugarbaker Design Firm in Atlanta. The West Coast Premiere of 'Re-Designing Women' opens May 29 for a three-week run at the Diversionary Theater.

This production is a collaboration with the Marquette University Theatre Department with several students, alumni and faculty filling roles both onstage and on the creative team.
