The South Street Seaport Museum announces a panel discussion that will explore the unique challenges in public engagement faced by cultural institutions that are also historic sites.This panel discussion is presented as part of Archtober 2018 at the Seaport Museum. The event will be held onThursday, October 11, 6:30pm in the Seaport Museum's Melville Gallery at 213 Water Street, New York, NY 10038. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Tickets are $25 for adults; $10 for members of the Seaport Museum, Tenement Museum, and Museum of Eldridge Street (contact your member institution for discount details).
NYU SKIRBALL Presents the New York City Premiere of Tere O'Connor's LONG RUN

NYU Skirball will present the New York City premiere of Tere O'Connor's Long Run, playing for two performances on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13 at 7:30 pm. The work features dancers: Simon Courchel, Marc Crousillat, Eleanor Hullihan, Emma Judkins, Joey Loto, Silas Riener, Lee Serle and Jin Ju Song-Begin. Costume design is by Strauss Bourque-LaFrance; lighting design by Michael O'Connor and a musical score created by O'Connor himself.

Kennedy Davenport's aside, just several minutes into her August 23 performance of THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO KENNEDY DAVENPORT at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, couldn't have been truer. And, to put it in RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE speak, that informality represented both the top and the bottom of the performance--- though, rest assured, nobody was in danger of elimination.

Taking these words to heart, NYU Skirball will present On Your Marx a *pay-what-you-think-it's-worth, two-week commemoration of the great philosopher Karl Marx's 200th birthday, featuring theater, dance and choral performances. Admission to all performances is free: however, audiences will receive an invoice detailing the cost of every element of the production (supply). They are then free to determine the worth of the production and donate accordingly (demand) thus enabling the artists to "earn money in order to live and write."
