Phone rings, door chimes, in comes Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's musical Company, which closes out The Ringwald Theatre's 11th season exactly on the theatre's 11th birthday-May 11. Winner of 6 Tony Awards in 1971, Company also happens to celebrate a birthday. Bobby is 35 and single. His friends are married and nosy. Bobby isn't getting any younger. And his friends won't let him forget it. Many of Sondheim's most celebrated songs (The Ladies Who Lunch, Being Alive, Getting Married Today, Another Hundred People) come from this impressionistic concept musical.

Theatre Nova Adds Leadership Positions to Management Team for 2017

Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor's professional playwrights' theater, now finishing up its second year of operations, is proud to announce additions to its leadership team. Founding Artistic Director, Carla Milarch, will be joined by Diane Hill and David Wolber who will both serve as Producing Artistic Directors. These experienced administrators will join the existing Theatre Nova team of Daniel C. Walker, Becky Fox, and Emilio Rodriguez in their quest to establish the group as a major theatre destination. The new, expanded team is excited to help lead the organization forward and is preparing for a number of new and exciting developments including announcing a "Supra-Season," establishing a season subscription program, continuing to improve the facility, and announcing special partnerships in the community. Theatre Nova is making a name for hot-off-the-press new works, with plays such as the new musical "Irrational" by David Wells and R. MacKenzie Lewis, and local playwright Kim Carney's poignant new work, "Katherine," along with "Mr. Joy" by Daniel Beaty, all recent critical and box office hits.

In April, Two Muses Theatre will continue its fifth season at its new space, shared with the Monster Box Theatre, in Waterford. Two Muses Theatre had to relocate in December 2015, following the closing of its original home inside the West Bloomfield Barnes & Noble. Two Muses is opening in the new location with Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, How I Learned to Drive, April 1-17.

In November, Two Muses Theatre will present the wondrous musical: The Light in the Piazza. (Book by Craig Lucas. Music and Lyrics by Adam Guettel.) The Light in the Piazza, winner of many Tony Awards, is as simple and complicated as its ineffable subject--love. When Clara falls for a charming young Italian man in a Florentine piazza, her mother must decide whether or not she will reveal truths about her daughter that could destroy the romance. The show will be performed on weekends, opening on November 6 and closing on November 22. The Light in the Piazza is directed by Joe Bailey, Artistic Director of The Ringwald Theatre in Ferndale, with musical direction by Jeff Bobick.
