Official: Daniel Radcliffe to Exit HOW TO SUCCEED Jan. 1; Darren Criss to Start Jan. 3 for Three Weeks

The producers of the 50th Anniversary production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING announced today that Darren Criss, breakout star of Fox's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning smash hit television show 'GLEE', will make his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch, performing a strictly limited three week engagement from January 3, through January 22, 2012. He will replace Daniel Radcliffe, who will play his final performance on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Tickets for Mr. Criss' engagement in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING are now on sale.

Now, Marc Malkin at E! says yes, and that an official announcement is due tomorrow of the star having a three-week run, beginning on January 3, 2012.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET resumed performances yesterday, July 28, at New World Stages after closing on Broadway on June 12, 2011. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET played nearly 500 performances on Broadway and won a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, and received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and two Distinguished Performance nominations. Will Darren Criss make his Broadway debut this year in a star-studded revival? A deal for him to do just that is in the works, according to Deadline.com. The actor - who rose to fame this year on Fox's hit show GLEE - is being considered to replace Daniel Radcliffe in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING when Radcliffe's contract ends. Negotiations are expected to begin shortly; should Ryan Murphy and 20th Century Fox of GLEE agree to the project, Criss could very well be on his way to headlining HOW TO SUCCEED.

Signature Theatre's 22nd season kicks off by making musical theatre history with its American Musical Voices Project: Next Generation 'World Premiere Repertory Series' - the first time in the history of the American theatre that two world premiere musicals will be presented in rotating repertory, in full production. The eight-week series, beginning previews on August 23rd, will produce The Hollow (book by Hunter Foster; music and lyrics by Matt Conner), to be directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner; and The Boy Detective Fails (book by Joe Meno; music and lyrics by Adam Gwon), directed by Signature Theatre Artistic Associate Joe Calarco. Both musicals have been commissioned by Signature Theatre as part of its groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project: The Next Generation.
