The Exponential Festival presents and promotes theatrical performances created by New York-based artists and exhibited across Brooklyn (and now sneaking into Manhattan). We are proud to announce our third year of artists and venues. Performances will take place January 4-31 in partnership with 100 Bogart, The Brick, Chez Bushwick, The Glove, JACK, Loading Dock, The Parlour, Slipper Room, The Tank, Triskelion's Douglas Elliman Studio Theater and Muriel Schulman Theater and Vital Joint. Panels will take place on January 16 and 21 at The Bushwick Starr. The Exponential Festival celebrates the increasing growth and importance of Brooklyn venues, unique Manhattan spaces and local artists, working together to keep theatre kicking.

The Invisible Dog will present MINOR CHARACTER, (June 17-25) by Brooklyn based theater company New Saloon. In this kaleidoscopic adaptation of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, a cast of 16 performers collage a century's worth of English translations - from the flowery 1916 version to Google Translate's profoundly nonsensical rendition - into one sprawling, intimate, quietly disastrous evening that culminates with an entirely new adaptation.

This fall, En Garde Arts, the company founded and recently resurrected by pioneering theater producer Anne Hamburger, launches BOSSS (Big Outdoor Site-Specific Stuff), a new site-specific performance festival featuring new works by some of New York City's most promising emerging theatre artists. Hamburger has established BOSSS to give a rising generation of spirited artists a chance to 'think big' when creating new work, and to help them cultivate an audience spanning frequent theatergoers and people who rarely seek out live arts deliberately. Under her mentorship and guidance, teams of playwrights, directors, devisers, choreographers and designers are creating nine innovative works that En Garde will present throughout Hudson River Park, October 2 - 4. The Circuit Theatre Company, a local, IRNE-nominated company run and operated by theatre artists ages 18-25 from across the country, has announced that it will close its summer season with the East Coast premiere of Nathan Allen's epic cycle, 'The Valentine Trilogy,' at the Boston Center for the Arts. Its season will also feature the Boston premiere of 'The Amish Project' by Jessica Dickey, and the world premiere of the new rock musical, 'Nicky Park Memorial Park' by Deepali Gupta and Ned Riseley. All productions are produced, directed, designed, and acted by young theatre professionals.
