The Los Angeles Philharmonic launches its 2010 summer classical concert season with a performance led by Grant Gershon, music director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC), Tuesday, July 6, at 8 p.m. The LAMC, where Gershon celebrates his 10th year as music director, is also on the program, along with three soloists: sopranos Jessica Rivera and Christine Brandes and mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor. The program features two settings of the 'Gloria' - by both Vivaldi and Poulenc - as well as Haydn's 'Te Deum' and Handel's 'Hallelujah' Chorus with fireworks.

The official launch of the 89th Hollywood Bowl season, the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and Opening Night Concert, brought stars and talent to the iconic venue, Friday, June 18, at 8:30 p.m. This year's inductees - pop culture icon Donna Summer, the legendary Carpenters (accepted by Richard Carpenter) and world-renowned pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet - as well as presenters multiple Grammy-winning musician, composer and producer Herb Alpert, acclaimed music producer David Foster, film and television actress Victoria Tennant, and producer, choreographer and television personality Nigel Lythgoe - made for a memorable evening.
